Currently feeding Canidae, but have read a lot of positives on Eagle. I dont believe Canidae contains much glucosamine/chondroitin, but it has a 21% crude protein. Eagle contains about 23% crude protein and has glucosamine HCL.

Stay with the Canidae. Eagel Pack has not kept up with times and not removed all the crap it should have.

Canidae is at the correct protein levels and the fatct that is doesnt have the glucosamine/chondroition is a good thing. The amount of these things is so low that in fact it does no good to your giant breed anyway.

Eagle Pack was a premium food in 1980. It is nothing more then crapinabag if you ask me. I used to feed it and got the biggest piles of crap I have ever seen. It has a LOT of grains and as I said back in 1980's it WAS a premium food. Eagle Pack has done NOTHING to improve it's food since then and all it is now is a premium price for a far less then premium food compared to what else is available.
Choose Canidea but if you really want to feed the best... Choose a raw diet! :)

i'd go with the eagle large breed it contains more of the things a large breed puppy needs and doesnt contain things it doesnt need ...like extra calcium .......they dont need that it just makes their bones grow too fast which can cause hip dysplasia and other joint issues , so go with the eagle the gluc. and chon. will help keep joint issues down

also as a side note: which you may already know........feed the puppy 3 smaller meals a day rather then one large meal or even two , spreading the food out over the day will help reduce the chances of bloat , which is common with these big dogs , also limit activity for about half an hour before and an hour after the dog eats to also help reduce bloat/gastric torsion

please feel free to email with any other questions you may have about danes

i have a dane he's 2 now and will be getting another one shortly , can see him as my avatar :)

I feed totally holistic and if you ask me I think what you are feeding right now would and is better than eagle . But if your dog is having a problem with joint health then I would consult your vet for your best option . good luck .
