In a way you are lucky to have more weight to lose...because you will lose more at a time when you first start out.
Daily walks. One day do 15 minutes, the next do 30 minutes, the next 15, the next 30.... Keep on like that till you feel able to do 45, 90 every week. It will help get your lungs and heart working the way they need to for anything else you plan to do and will make your entire body feel better. In the process, if you try to walk fairly fast, you may lose 20 pounds in less than two months. Do not expect it to happen EVERY two months though. The leaner you become, the longer it takes to lose 20 more pounds. But good luck and congratulations on taking the first steps toward a better life! *hugs*

I recommend a goal of one or two pounds per week. Cut fried food, white flour, and sugar. Get some daily walking or other exercise...20 minutes working up to one hour (if you have an hour....otherwise 30 minutes).
Groups like Weight Watchers and OA can be helpful to some people. Seeing a nurtitionist is also a great idea. I like three meals a day and nothing in between, some folks need to go with a healthy snack or 6 small meals. I understand Oprah's nutritionist says eat a small meal or snack at 7am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm, 7pm, and 10pm.
And don't let any stupid hateful insecure as*h*les keep you from doing what you want to do. Pursue your dreams and enjoy your life.
God bless.

Hun, you don't need a diet, because when your brain thinks "i am ON a diet", the immediate question is "when will i be OFF the dang diet?!" You need a program, a change in behavior and in patterns. What makes you eat, why, are you an emotional eater, do you bindge, do you feel happy?
When you're sad, are you having a party in your mouth? You eat only with your brain, not your soul, not your stomach, definitely not because a friend didn't smile at you today...
Get to it, stick to it and remember you might be eating with friends, but all that weight you have to lose by yourself. A second on the lips, an year on the hips. Think first. You know you can do it if you set your mind and your patience to it. :)
