I went for MRI ordered by my orthopedists for my back and found out I have a herniated disk . If I dont do an operation how long will it take for the nerves that are causing me pain in my legs and back to die off so I will be pain free ?

I don't know that it will die off on it own. Usually, there would need to be a decrease in blood flow for the nerve to be starved. You really need to follow up with a doctor and get a professional opinion.

The nerves don't die off, like you think. They become infected and create more pain, until you can't stand it. When it's down to your toes, it'll be the worst you'll feel, you'll lay awake all night almost crying for relief.
Go see your doctor, ask him to make arrangements to see an orthopedic surgeon, have them decide what the next action is. maybe a chiropractor, a therapy session, maybe surgery.
