I'm so sorry for you...
My first cat James died some 5 years ago and I still can't look at his picture or talk about him... We were such good mates and he only was nice to me really...
The only thing that helped for me was to get a new cat...so we went out to get one and came home with two... ;-)
Those two sometimes do things James also did and then I think of him ... but now with a smile on my face...
Just remember, she is in cat heaven now and she's looking over you...

Poor baby. I feel your pain. I lost my cat of 16 years last summer. The worst part is that I ran over him with my car!!! I had two cats and this one was the nicest one. He was lying in the driveway and didn't move. He couldn't have heard the car. Anyway, I get some peace from thinking that it was time for God to take him. I know he didn't suffer. The remaining cat has always been an ungrateful little beast. Not friendly at all. Can you get another kitty? If your dad won't let you, someday you will grow up and you have get whatever you want.

I am so sorry about your kitty--I know just how you feel, it is a terrible thing to go through.
My cat died last December and I am not over it and when I think back about that time (around Christmas) I just get a sick feeling--this is without a doubt the worst thing I have ever had to experience.
I have two other cats and I love them both but I will never have another cat like Felix---he was my baby.
I know now that I will never get over his death and I still cry at times---the only thing that makes me feel any better at all is that I know I did everything in my power to make him well but he died anyway and would not want him here with me and suffering the way he was before he died.
Hopefully we will get to see our pets in heaven or the rainbow bridge---I think they are there playing, waiting for us.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I understand how you feel. I had a cat for 2 years that had to be put down because of an irreversible neurological problem. It took me about 2-2.5 years to really get over the sadness. I took it really hard. I still can not listen to the song that was on the radio on the way back home from the vet after we put him down.
After about 2-3 months we got another cat from the pound. It helped, but there is no way to replace the loss of your other cat. I am sorry and good luck.

I am so sorry for your loss of your kitty, I know that you miss her very much. With the anniversary of her loss will bring back memories. Have you thought of maybe getting another kitty like her? That also may help too. I am not saying what your father is telling you, hecks no. Also it is okay to grieve over the loss of your kitty. But later in time, you will forget her, but Internet, you won't have the same emotion that you are going through now. I lost my chow about 6 years ago (he was food poisoned by my neighbor-i have no proof so i can put charges on the person) and i too have memories of my baby. What i do is that i would take about five minutes of my time to have a small prayer and that helps me. Again, I am so sorry for your loss. Take care now...

I had a kitten that was shot and killed with a paint gun five years ago and I still think about her. I wonder how someone could be so mean to harm a cute little kitten! I understand it is hard. We ended up getting another kitten..of course it didn't replace the one we lost but it definitley helped...

I understand exactly how you feel, I think you should rescue another kitten from a shelter or the streets. Maybe you don't want another cat yet, because you feel she can't be replaced, and it is true, but you won't be replacing her, you will be saving another kitty in her memory. So your cat will still be alive through that.

my heart goes out to you! i have 3 cats but have yet to go through the ordeal of them dying.ive had depression on/off for years and my cats are everything to me, i even prefer them to humans! even though my 3 boys eat me out of house and home, take up half my bed, eat my branflakes, and dig their claws into my legs whenever they want something!
a non pet owner never understands the capacity with which we can love a fellow animal, and to be quite honest it is their loss.my suggestion is take a break, do whatever makes the pain easier, and cry all u like, and maybe eventually when some time has passed u might want to give another cat a loving home? maybe get yourself down to your nearest cat rescue centre, even just to have a look around.there are cats out there who have never experienced the loving home you gave your late cat.

So very sorry. I'll lend you my shoulder to cry on. Then get a new kitty and love the next one the same as the old one.
