Atheist fight to prove there is nothing after death. But if that is correct that means in the end we turn out to be nothing more then a little pile of garbage. Why struggle then? It's dump. Why should I ever try to consider intelligence in a future garbage? Just so I may be proud I chose to follow the way of the garbage? That's not evolved thinking at all.

Yes, it is easier for me to believe what you say it's fairy tails rather then think of myself I'm the result of blind evolution. Blind evolution may build someone in the way that see madness as wisdom. Why you even trust your logics then?

Because they love their sins. If they choose to believe in God then they have to acknowledge their true state and stop sinning or go to hell. If there's no God then there's no reason not to go on lying, stealing, fornicating, blaspheming, etc...

Pile of garbage? Well, if that's the extent to which your brain is able to understand biological degradation and decomposition, I guess it's a start.

But really, were you trying to make a point here? Basically, you just said, "I can't deal with reality, so I believe in fairy tales."

That is all we are. Food for the worms. Until someone can come up with some conclusive evidence instead of just blind faith, then I will continue to believe that until I end up on the rubbish pile!

You are saying that the only thing that can give your life meaning is if there is eternity.

Yet eternity is so long and scary that your head would explode if you thought about it too long (I mean, do you really still want to be here on Yahoo Answers in 48 trillion billion zillion gazillion years - and thats just the beginning of eternity).

Would it not be better to find meaning in life itself. However brief.

Eternity gives life no more meaning that lack of it does.

No one including you "knows" what comes after death, you only believe you know.

And calling people who do not believe as you do "garbage" is an example of evolved thinking?..

It's funny you should say that. On the rare occasions that I have had to go to a religious service, have been struck by the emphasis that all of mankind are nothing but worthless scum, and only god is any good. I find that religion, not atheism, demeans and debases people.

M.T., you are a bright, hopeful, intelligent young person, or you seem young in your posts. Since the age of 9...I am now 71...I have felt quite at home with my unbelief, and I reject your assertion that we believe that 'after life' we humans are only garbage. Across my long reach into life I've been a professional actor in the classical theatre. It has been my good fortune to have touched the lives of tens of thousands...and on television, millions...of people. I have five grandchildren, the youngest of whom mirrors his grandfather. Chances are he will grow up to share his grandfather's beliefs in human and civil rights, fair-play, honesty and kindness, generosity, respect for others and himself. Perhaps he will meet a girl one day and fall in love...he's 10 now...and they will marry and bring children into the world. In those sweet babies will flow a touch of me. Garbage? A dump? You err, M.T. When one dies, that's the end of your flesh, one is, as my man Will S. said, food for worms. But by no means is it the end of 'you.' As an atheist, I hold strongly to the belief that any man or woman is free to believe to whatever his or her mind and heart take him. But I urge you, M.T., and others, to read, to attempt to understand, to explore the path our species has taken over several million years.

Being realistic leads you to believe there is nothing after death...... The problem is, the Bible isnt kept in the fiction section of the Library where it should be.
