Bulldogs are often very expensive due to complications with natural birthing and small litter sizes.

ANY breed of dog from a top show/working kennel can be extremely expensive.

Some breeds are more expensive generally as puppies because they are hard to raise and have birthing problems(breeding) Small litter size, also some breeds have more health problems or more expensive to feed (larger)

So yes bulldogs, mastiff type dogs, and some of the toy breeds are often more expensive,, than a Lab,, or golden..

unfortunaly there is another type of expensive dog.. often cost has to do with the current demand, or fad..Rare colors, rare size, designer breeds.. ther are always people who want to ride this cash cow.. Puggles, for example a mix,, is popular designer dog right now,, bred only for profit, no health clearances.. but people line up to pay $2000 for these poorly bred, puppy mill products every day.. Go figure

ironically
The most expensive dog, is often not the breed,, but what it is trained for,, police canines, service dogs often cost 10-40,000 in training and raising expenses.. A really well trained stock dog, Border collie, aussie, can cost $5-10,000 because of the time, training and expense with owning such a dog..
a top winning show dog, good producer,, if sold generally does not get sold for less than $5000... I actually know someone who paid $15,000 for a Australian shepherd,, to import to another country.. so that is a expensive dog..

Hope this helps.

The dog always needs to be supervised when indoors. Every time the dog goes to the toilet in the house, and he is not caught and corrected, the behaviour is reinforced and he will think it is acceptable behaviour.
Learn here https://tr.im/nycqQ

• Take your dog on lead to the area where you would like him to relieve himself
• Use the word “toilet” when the dog is going to the toilet so he learns to associate the word with the action
• Reward with high praise and a treat reward so this behaviour is keenly repeated by the dog
• If the dog tries to jump and play with you ignore this behaviour until the dog focuses on sniffing the ground and starting to cue for the signs of relieving himself
• Remember to be patient – as this may take time
• If consistent, in weeks to a couple of months you should be able to do without the lead and your dog should be able to relieve himself on cue when hearing the command “toilet”

As prevention is better than cure; get in the habit of closing doors and not allowing your dog free access to areas that are unsupervised. NB: Baby dividers between rooms and hallways can be very effective to keep dog out. It is interesting to note that carpeted rooms are attractive to puppies as they hold the scent particularly well.

Make sure your cleaning the urine up completely! There are a number of excellent cleaning products that you can now purchase from pet stores that eliminate the smell of urine or feces. If the pup can smell any urine or feces, remembering it has a much stronger sense of smell than us; it will encourage him to go again on the same spot.

If you are to catch your dog in the act simply give the “a-ah” command. Pick the dog up and place outdoors or on paper so that he can finish his deed there. Remember that if you do not catch the dog within 3 seconds of an undesirable act he will have no comprehension of what you are correcting him for. This may worsen his toileting habits as the dog will learn to be deceptive as he will now want to hide away.

At the moment poodle crosses seem to be very popular moodles, and spoodle and labrdoodle!! its crazy these "designer dogs" can be sold for nearly a thousand dollars at pet shops!! I think the best place to get a cross breed (or purebred) is at the pound.
Any breed that is in high demand gets more expensive like when 101 dalmations movie came out, dalmations were in every pet shop and very expensive!!

To me, the most expensive dog is the Neapolitan Mastiff or any other mastiffs breed. They can run up to $1800 or up. They are from Italy. The mastiffs are good dogs to have, they are great with kids and over protective with the females (human) in the household. Mine don't listen to me very well, but he does protect me. I would be walking him and when people would stop to chat, he will stand closely to me, where his side is pressing against my legs. Labs are a good breed too. well good luck on finding a new puppy for your household. And I am sure that you can surf through the net to find the right dog that will fit for you and your family.

It all depends on the kennel you are purchasing a pup/dog from and how successful the sire and dam have been in whichever discipline they are bred for eg. obedience, agility, conformation showing etc.
If the sire and dam have produced top winning stock before this will also have a bearing on the price.
To give you an idea a pet standard poodle can cost @ £750.00 yet a standard poodle produced by a top winning sire and dam can cost £2000.00 plus.
Another factor is colour. Rare colours cost more than the more common ones.

I know Shar Pei's used to be. But that was many years ago. I don't know what it is today. My guess would be the Pit Bull. Some of them sell for many, many thousands.

ADD: After researching, Guiness Book of Records shows that the Lowchen is the most expensive.

Best in Show or national specialty winning dogs are enormously expensive and their prodigy are high priced. I suspect gundog field trial winners are the same.
