I see it. It is there. Whenever I put my pointer onto it, it just turns into an hourglass and doesn't let me click on anything, even the "Start" button.

In my Task Manager, explorer.exe is running, and I even turned my computer off. Let it sit for about 40 minutes, and then turned it on again, and I still have that problem.

I'm running Windows XP.

I can't even right-click on the thing, it is not working.

Nor is the Windows key on the keyboard working.

Okay try this. Bring up your task manager. Click on File and then New. Type in msconfig and hit enter. Click on the start-up tab. Something that is starting up with your computer is causing your explorer to do that. So if you can, post everything that has a check mark beside it or better yet just do a search for each one of them and you'll be able to decide if you want them starting up with your computer or not.

Well if a "System Restart" doesn't take care of the problem, this is what I recommend.

Do a "System Restore". To access System Restore (In Category View) go to Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, In the top left corner should be "System Restore". Follow the prompts, and restore your system to an earlier date when you where not having this problem.

(Note: This does not delete programs you have added to C:\

Right click in the blue area to the bottom right and lock the taskbar.

Have you tried pressing the Windows key on your keyboard? Do you have that option?
