my guess is no. I've heard of champagne breakfasts, and of course, there's the 5 o'clock cocktail hour, but never at 10 a.m. have I seen cocktails served. You might get away with a spiked punch, or very fruity drinks like mimosas and screwdrivers.

If you are serving cocktails, why not?

The purpose of an invitation is not to get etiquette marks, it is to advise your guests, when, where, why and what to expect!

I'm sure if you're offering 10 am cocktails there's a good reason and your friends will want to be there to share the celebration!

Tell them about it and have fun!

Best wishes :-)

It doesn't matter what time of day it is!! If you are serving cocktails, you are serving cocktails, and there's nothing improper about telling people that.

I would change "cocktails" to "refreshments" since the event is at 10 a.m.

If you want to, and there will be alcohol served, say it. You might nicen it up, and call the cocktails by another name, like open bar, or libations, or alcohol, or say that it will be "available", not "served".

NO!!! You can, of course, serve alcoholic drinks anytime you wish. Just don't call them cocktails.

The proper term is "Refreshments will be served". Supply both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and your guests can make their choice.
