Yes, I know that - actually he speaks about Prophet Muhammad. Though Thomas Carlyle never embraced Islam but he realised at his time that Prophet Muhammad was not an ordinary man and he refuted that Prophet Muhammad ever used sword to convert others...

He wrote a book on the French Revolution. I read it. That's about all I know.
