Usually 3 - 4 times per night scratching on the bedroom door. She generally doesn't want anything - She dis have some kittens 9 weeks ago - all have been re-homed and she is on antibiotics as she has mastitis. She seems to be on heat and we can't let her out which is what she wants as she can't be spayed until the mastitis has gone.
HELLLLLLPPPPPPPPP!! We have just gone through weeks of getting up in the night with the kittens and we have a baby coming in 8 weeks so we just want some sleep!!

Raluca are you mad or plain stupid? We have killed her babies we have looked after them for the past 8 weeks, fed them, kept them warm and very much loved them and now they all have lovelt homes with good friends. Our cat is an outdoors cat and she need to be spayed otherwise we may re-populate the earth with her kittens and i am not so sure i can find as many good homes as there are kittens.
We a baby on the way so don't really want her in the bedroom as she does have a tendency to sit high up on your neck.
Thanks to eveyone else who made positive comments.

First welcome to the cat world! sounds like you have a normal nocturnal house cat. Still - it can be very annoying as I have a night creeper too. First I try to keep him awake as much as possible during the day without being mean about it. If he's sleeping too much I just go over and start petting him or something just enough to wake him. I sometimes then give him a little treat or something. Anything to keep him awake a little more during the time I'm awake. Even if its just when you get home from work or whatever. Plus if she's been re-homed a few times she may be a little insecure and just need to know that you are still accessible. Just being in a different room from her may make her feel like she's been abandoned.
Also - I have to agree with another post - Can you just keep your door open? Maybe you can put some fresh food and water outside your room right before bed as well and just see if he will just come in and either get on the bed with you and go to sleep or leave you alone after seeing she can get in.
My male cat just seems to get lonely at night and we used to keep him shut in the room with us but he'd wake us up as well. We started the food regiment and also just leaving the door open and he seems fine now. He comes and goes from the room during the night but rarely bothers us anymore.

well first off how long has her babies been gone?
Hope they were fully weaned before they left her,as she may be in discomfort due to milk still in her breast!
Great on spaying her!! ignore the person who said to reconsider it because it is proving fact that they are healthier and live longer if you do plus don't keep reproducing which is very hard on them and kittens too!!
Also ,it helps with the over population of millions of cats that have to be humanely euthanized each yr due to irresponsible owners and lack of good loving homes!
to your your intial Q.well like many stated try to keep her in a another rm away from you all with her food /water/litter bx and toys.
she may also be missing her babies for a while!
God bless and congrads on the new lil one to come!

If it is not possible to let the bedroom door open, maybe you can let her in other room of the house, where she cannot disturb you. You might also want to reconsider spaying; a cat ovaries produce hormones that dont serve only sexual purposes, but they also have a role in maintaining a healthy circulatory system and a good metabolism.

Try putting a fan in your bedroom to create white noise so you can drown the cat out and get some sleep. We had to do that with our two cats, we live in a one bedroom apartment and they like to play (loudly) during the night :)

not really sure about this one seems to be call of nature so there isnt much you can do about her. i would give her the option of sleeping in your room / make sure there is plenty for her to do downstairs like buy a bunch of cat toys or put pasta in plastic bottles that seems to keep them amused for hours. buy some catnip toys she should be interested in that most cats go mad for it but only give her the option of playing with catnip at night so when u go bed she has something to do.

Try locking her in a different room with her litter and food at night and sleep with the t.v. or radio on to help block out the sound,,,,

Leave your door open! She probably feels lonely and wants to come in. Put her bed in your room, and it will be fine I think. Or give her more food in the evening, right before you go to bed.

TO PTLVR:
How can you congrat them on the little one and advise killing all the little ones of the cat????
Maybe they should just ignore you, not the person who recommended reconsidering spaying.
