Yes I know that, Just like the little secret a drop of oil is put in your draft beer at the bar just to make it go down. Some even do it in the bottles the bars that serve beer with bottle caps removed. There's lots of little secrets. Even with coffee in many restaurants they put a bit of oil in the coffee before its made. It doesn't matter whether it's perked or filtered coffee! I've worked in a number of restaurants and cafeterias. Some cut coffee costs with mixing a poorer quality coffee with a good coffee.. they may advertise good coffee like Cherry Hill coffee yet it may be mixed with Presidents Choice or another store brand coffee! We have no way of knowing unless we work in the place!

Yes I have. I also did this when I was a server, but I would let people know first. Always ask what type of drinks are avalaible. And listen to see if they have gingerale or not. The normal mix is Alittle over 3/4 full of sprite and under 1/4 full coke.

As a former bartender, I know of this little secret. The formula is mostly Sprite with a splash of Coke
When ordering an alcoholic drink with ginger ale as a mixer, the makeshift ginger ale will work as a substitute if real ginger ale is unavailable.
If someone orders just ginger ale, the avid ginger ale drinker can and will taste the difference.

No way. That is way off, friend. Maybe a mix of some sprite (sorta) but not with coke! If you'd like to make your own ginger ale, this is it.

Yes i did. Its not just restaurants that do it, a lot of bars do it as well. I cocktailed for several years and its a fact that a lot of people do it. Did you know that if you don't have pineapple juice on hand you can mix apple and orange together and it will taste pretty close to the pineapple juice. I have done this many times as well.

if that's true it's ridiculous. gingerale is supposed to have ginger! then again i suppose what we commonly call gingerale (canada dry for example) is not really gingerale.
ever had reed's extra strong ginger brew? it comes in a green beer type bottle and it's delicious. it really has a bite to it.

Yes I did that when I bartended. The other trick to that is a splash(very light) of bitters. It gives it a slight gingery taste. When you mix it you cannot tell the difference!
