It doesn't make sense to me that he would be so upset by people loving each other. Which is something that he wants us all to do more than anything apparently.

I say "trivial" because I find it hard to see how it is of such significance to God. If someone is in love with someone else and loves them more than anything, why would God frown on this? It must be so hurtful to those who believe this of God. Most people who are homosexual, to my knowledge, have no control over the fact. It is as natural to them as a man loving a woman is to the rest. Yet God created them this way calling them sinners at the same time? Doesn't sound like the act of an enlightened loving being to me. Sounds like concious torment for what purposes I admit I could only guess. If homosexuality is a form of deformation as some may claim, then why arn't mentally handicaped and physically deformed people sinners as well? God does not seem to frown on these people for any reason that i've heard of.

Though I suppose that someone born with uncontrollable desire for murder would fit the same argument to a degree. Except that murder has nothing to do with love.

Thanks all

Aw man...you've opened Pandora's Box. There is no right answer here; no matter what else happens, humanity will never fail to apply their own spin to anything said, no matter where it originated. Personally, I do not buy into religion because of what I have observed over the course of my life. In all honesty, I doubt that it matters whether the Christian God deems homosexuality a "sin" or not; it is a personal choice. Having individual preferences that differ from what is considered "normal" does not necessarily make it bad or evil. It's just...different. I have read both versions of the "Adam and Eve" myth...the Creation and the Fall. The one thing that the myth seems to establish above all else is also the one thing that gives us the right to make our own choices: free will. When Eve ate of the Tree of Knowledge and then passed the fruit to Adam, it established the fact that we are not puppets to dance at the bidding of some unseen master; we are human beings, and thus equal. There is no reason why personal preference should make anyone less than that...a fact that many seem to overlook. Does the fact that someone is homosexual--"abnormal" to some minds--also make them less than human? Who gets to decide?

This is another reason why I do not believe in God- a being who has nothing better to do than to sit up there in the clouds and judge every single individual in the whole world!
Just live! And enjoy life. People created god becasue they are afraid of the afterlife. There is no such thing. Religion is a toxin. It keeps society afraid and in check. Which is where it rooted- to keep the peasants doing the slave labor and making them believe they were going to be "thanked" in the afterlife. if you are a good person- you are good.
I think it is BS when people equate morals with religion- like if you don't beleive in god then you must be ammoral. God is just as believable as the easter bunny is. It sickens me that laws are built around it and that fairy tale days like easter are made a holiday. When will people wake up? When will people start questioning whether or not it can be real? Ask a die hard Chritian! They only list of biblical quotes! Like that is truth! It is a story! Ask another chritian and they will just say "becasue it is." No answers = no truth. Plain and simple.

Actually homosexual conduct is a both a abonation before God and nature. And indeed it is a sin and a perversion. God created man and woman to produce Godly offspring. The act of engaging in homosexual conduct is a sin. The act of calling it nornal is a sin as well. Calling that which is Holy unholy and that which is unholy holy. In other words perverted thinking. You can think homosexual conduct for AIDS and HIV. Along with a number of other sexual sicknesses.
I would also like to comment on homosexual love. It does not exist. Love is a expression of pure intent of good, toward a fellow human being. That goes for all kings of Love.
Homosexuals do not have that kind of love period. They have a carnal love with is sin out of wedlock between a man and a woman.
Homosexaul love is love perverted which is lust. Lust is a problem in the homosexual population today like never before. They are not fatihful to there parners. Most die before the age of 40. Only 1 percent or so live past 40. Sin shortens people lives. God tell people to not do so because he knows better then people. It is not Gods desire for any one to die of sickness nor to go to hell. His instructions are for your good.
People do not want to live a good life and be blessed so they reject his instructions. Sin is a choice as it always was and will be. But just like stealing a car. Sin also has results that are real. People must look to the whole counsel of Gods word before they get the real picture of what God is teaching us in his book the bible.
There is alot more then homosexuals spoke of in there.

Loving each other is fundamental to what Christ taught. How do you confuse sex with love? Surely you know the difference.

Homosexuality is not natural. Some will try to argue that it is, pointing non-mainstream examples in nature. With their logic, we could also say that disease or deformity is natural because sometimes we are involved in them.

Males and females were not designed by nature to have sexual relations with each same. If they do, they should expect that many of those who have relations conforming to their body designs will consider this homosexuality to be odd. Following design of nature is the basis of sanity.

Apparently God has set limits on what we should do-for whatever reason he may have. I don't think he is too concerned that each of us have access to every form of pleasure that we can possibly imagine. Such a life usually is not wholesome and I think he did a good job in the Bible of leting us know where to drqw the lines. Life is short and we need to put lust and hedonism aside long enough to pursue eternity.

BTW being unnecessarily mean or cruel to ANYONE-homosexual or not-is not "natural" either.

thrilling communicate. I did omit the 1st area although curiously you're on que with all yet one component. The scripture does say after a Christian is addressed by potential of elders and then till now the church, that they may well be forged from the church. i think, yet would desire to be incorrect, that this meant from a place of ministry, not from the church physique. Christ could choose us to forgive 7 x 70, and then some. Casting people out of the church could depart them without preparation in any respect.

Because they cannot be fruitful and multiply. Also, a marriage is a sacrament before God so that the union can be blessed. The two shall become one. A baby is a physical manifestation of a spiritual truth. It also is usually based on lust, not love. Yes, God wants us to love each other but that doesn't mean sex! I love my parents and sisters but I'm not going to have sex with them.

homosexuality goes against God's design for the family. a man and a woman, husband and wife, with children. that's his plan. a man and a man can't make children. neither can a woman and a woman.

something messing up his plan such as homosexuality isn't exactly trivial to him. or to christians, needless to say.

also, love is being taken out of context here. love is described in 1 Corinthians 13. it is described as kind, peaceful, unselfish, and understanding. love is an action, not a feeling. we can certainly love one another by being selfless and a servant to others. however, love in the romantic sense includes this but of course is deeper, as you are preparing for marriage.

he intends for us to love each other, but not in homosexuality.

and "homosexuality" isn't a "race." i don't think it's an ethnic group, lol...

What makes you believe God thinks anything we do is trivial?
You seem to have a lot of anger. Why is it just because you have a problem with something you think is trivial you you get so angry. It must not seem so trivial to you either.

Yes he wants us to love each other, yes, but life still stands at this, WOMAN WAS MADE FOR MAN AND MAN MADE FOR WOMAN, not a man made for another man, its not just the way God ordained it. That is why he created man, saw that he couldnt be alone and needed a companion, so woman came about. (read the bible, the story of creation)

Your body is a temple and you desecrate it with homosexuality. No sin is trivial. Everyone has a cross to bear. For some it is homosexuality.
