the gospel of barnabas...

it has been proven over and over and over again to have been written in italian in the 16th century. it contains 32 geographical and historical errors. it says judas looked so much like Jesus that Jesus' own mother couldn't tell the two apart. it says both that Jesus was made of dust, and that He was born of the virgin mary- which is another historical inaccuracy, since the term ''virgin mary'' didn't come about until about the 5th century, and this book claims to be written during the time of the Christ. and look, there's another one! the ''gospel'' of barnabas claims that Jesus is the Christ, but later says that He is not the Messiah.
how does that work exactly? ''Christos'' is the greek translation for the hebrew ''Moschiah.'' they both mean the same exact thing...

did you know that there are historical documents that make Jesus' crucifixion absolutely undeniable, and that these documents were written by jews, romans, and anyone else who was around at the time? you choose to believe a phony italian book that didn't even come along until the 1600's instead of accepting history. i don't understand that. i just don't.

miriam-
barnabas was a follower of the apostle paul. he's mentioned in paul's writings.

Ya can't tell yur Biblical characters without a score card...

The ancient Hebrews had two rituals for casting out (group) sin, the sacrifice of an animal like a sheep or a goat, and the casting of the Azael goat into the desert to die after sin was ritually placed upon it.

Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor, hated being in a backwater place like Jerusalem, and hated Jews. Previously he had tried to put Roman shields into the Temple, and the resulting outrage had found its way to Rome. He was censured by Rome and was out for payback.

So, when Jesus and Barabbas were arrested, Pilate hit upon that idea and cast Jesus into the role of the 'Sacrifical Lamb', and Barabbas into the role of the 'Azael Goat', and insulted the mob by asking them to choose which [human] sacrifice they wanted. However ,sometimes it was prudent to do both, and that's probably what happened -- two for the price of one...

There's a new 'Gospel according to Judas' that may shed an alternative light on the subject...

If you read the Bible you will see that Jesus atoned for the sins of those who accept the atonement. This was foretold by the prophets thousands of years before the crucifiction. Moses foretold of the tree of life in 1500 BC..Abraham's prophesy was before Moses..Adam even was told of the tree of life. Isaiah foretold of the coming Messiah and how he would atone for sin 800 BC. Christ said he would fulfill these prophesies...So the bile clearly shows God si righteous and all men sin and the wages of sin is death but the gift of salvation si through the atonement that God did provide. The gospel of Barnabas is a proved fraud the Muslim who wrote it did not even understand the Qu'ran..Nor did he understand that Christ means Messiah...the gospel of Barnabas was meant to prove the Quran but it was a bad mistake calling Jesus the Christ then denying he was the Messiah they are the same thing...It also refers to Muhammad as the Messiah this is not in agreement with the Qu'ran..The Qu'ran proves it is not the word of God by denying the atonement the gospel of Barnabas makes mistakes too. Please read the true word of God and see that any of these books disagree with God and are not the true word of God.

Okay so you are saying it was Jesus who kissed Judas as a signal to the Romans and so Judas died in the place of Jesus whilst taking all the blame for his own death as well....what a heavy burden he took upon himself...Judas Christ perhaps then?

Christian does not recognise Gospel of Barnabas, even you do not need to use it to prove to them that Jesus was not killed. You can prove from the canonical Gospels which Christians have now in the hand that Jesus was not killed.

Read the following book and use it to prove to the Christian that Jesus was not killed.

If that is true. That would truly be the ultimate in self sacrifice. And would be proof today. Speaking of which. Has anyone of us been told why the terrorist sacrificed himself? What was the point and why haven't we been told. There is absolutely no way that a terrorist just about to kill himself not want to be heard, also there would be an ultimatum. Otherwise it would be called suicide.

Absolute nonsense except to a Muslim who will believe anything Mohammad said. One would wonder why Judas of all people would be crucified instead or what unknown undisclosed games were being played by the confused moon god of Mohammad.
