I met my current GF on spring break last year.. anyways, she is 16 and i am 19.. I didnt care at the time because i was just trying to get with chicks.. But somehow i got really involved with her, and i feel bad.. =/ i kinda feel like i am taking advantage of her.. I told her, and she said it was rediculus, but i think she is just to young to understand maybe?? Anyways any help would be nice =D

Sorry for not mentioning this...
Her parents absolutely love me and are completely fine with it...
Also, i said no to the whole sexual thing, but she insisted, and said it wasnt bad if she instigated it.. so =/ i dont know..

whoa, dont tell her shes too young to understand cause that will make the insignificant age difference seem bigger. 3 years is nothing compared to some 26 year old dating a 15 year old. (my friend dates the 26 year old) So my advice is, forget about it... theres not much of a difference and as long as shes happy, then you should be too.

She might be more mature then you think.. In the spectrum of things 3 years in not that big of a deal.. Enjoy your time with her, but either way before you get to serious or involve anything sexual you should wait until she is at least 18...

At that age, yes, I do think it is a little too much. Once you are both in your twenties, 3 years doesn't matter too much, but it does when you are an adult and she is a minor.

It sucks, but it's true. You both are going to change so much in the next 2 to 3 years.

I think you have to be the strong one and break this off now, before there is any major hurt.

Well because you are an adult and she is still underage i suppose it doesnt sound that great! However 3 years really isnt that much, BUT her parents may not like the idea of her daughter dating a 19 year old.

It all depends on her maturity level.. If you're not going to sleep with her and then move on then you're not taking advantage of her...just treat her right... At 16 she is probably not as mature as you are and would take it a lot harder than a 19 yr old

Let me see if I have this straight... You met your current girlfriend on spring break...

At the time the fact that she is 16 didn't bother you because you were just trying to "hit it".. but now that you're "involved", or committed to her you are having some doubt because you think she might be too young for a relationship...?

Not too young to "get with" but too young to commit too...

Interesting. What's wrong with that... I can't quite put my finger on it.. but something is askew....

hmmmm....

Well because she is under 18 it is against the law in most states. 3 years is not a big gap, but be very careful she is under 18. I stated dating my wife at the exact age you and your girlfriend are now and we have been married for 10 years now.

That is a hard question, because girls usually mature faster than guys. I am guessing that her parents are okay with it, or she would not be allowed to see you. I hope that, if you are having sex, you are using protection so that her life will not be ruined by pregnancy. Do make sure that she finishes school. Be kind and patient with her, and try not to rip her heart to shreds if and when you split.

For God's sake, your age difference is only 3 years!!! I fell for someone 9 years younger than me before (she's already over 21 at the time).

I was 19 and dating a 16year old and it worked out for 3 years. Once I was able to go to the bar she started to get insecure. It could still work out but for me it ended up breaking us.
