We all know that adultery is commited when you are IN a relationship (you are violating the relationship)---but the Bible mentions specifically adultery and forication, in different ways, so they must have different connotations. Opinions please?

As you said, adultery is a sexual relationship with someone other than the legal spouse. Fornication is intercourse without the "benefit" of marriage. Basically, one is only supposed to have sex if in a committed, monogamous relationship. Hope this helps.

Adultary ... we alll know that one but Fornication is like teenagers just going crazy I guess is the best way to put it. Overboard activity without being in a grown up committed relationship. I think of it in the Bible as keeping yourself pure and clean. Not just fooling around for the heck of it. Responsibility. Just my opinion!

Fornication is straight up *******. And you already know that adultry is cheating on your spouse. So when the bible mentions them in different ways it is because they are different. The bible is saying sex is wrong unless it is sex with your spouse.
