Mine does this whenever my dad pets her. He is her favorite person. A few others of my birds have done this and it's not a bad thing. Most of the time it's just showing their affection or happiness.

First off i want to thank you for taking care of this bird!Just to let you know, it is NEVER good to touch birds because exactly this problem this vibrating is its heart beating rapidly because it is afraid. Although sometimes if the bird is tame enough this could be also a mating response the bowing down because she is awaiting for you to mate. I would also reccomend getting her a male if you think its time for it. Birds can be afraid and bow down and also bow down as a "sex" position. All birds hate to be touch/picked up. I reccomend you giving it some space and do not touch the bird besides every 5 or 6 months to do check ups on their wings, health, etc. Good luck and let me know how it turns out for you and your bird! ♥

I have two female cockatoos and mine both do that as well when I am petting them. They particularly do it when I touch their backs, it is exactly as you describe, like vibrating. Their breathing becomes somewhat rapid as well. I'm quite sure that the touching has triggered some mating response in them and that is what you are seeing. It is the same position they would assume for the male to mount them.

Cockatoo's are known to bow and dance/shake if it is a new bird then the bird might just be showing this display because it is still getting use to you.

It's a mating response.
