If you are having these type of thoughts you really need to go to your local E.R. immediately. They will accept you even if you do not have health insurance. There is financial assistance available for you and you can worry about that when you get out but right now your safety and well being should be your first priority. Get a friend or call 911 to take you and tell them what's going on so they can get you the proper treatment. Also, there are clinics that are either free or based on your your income in most Counties. Sometimes the bigger Counties. Please get the help you need as soon as possible. Good Luck!

Well you can go to your local mental health, and they will put you either on a sliding scale to pay, which means you don't pay near what they cost, or they just say your so poor that you don't have to pay at all. They have lot of people in that position. That they see, and help. Now if you need medication, the doctor at mental health can usually get it free of charge for you, right from the factor that makes it, and you will pick it up once a month from the doctors nurse or whatever. No charge. I know a lot of people that is getting their medication and treatment this way. Things have changed and they are really trying to help the people that they are seeing now adays.

Lisa, know that many of us in the Answers community really care what happens to you. Even if all you need to do is talk, you may email me, as well. Just click on the name and it will take you to my profile. Then click on the blue email line and it will send me an email.
It sounds like you need to have someone take you to the emergency room right away. Don't drive yourself. Take a cab if you have to. Do it now. We will be here.

Go to the local emergency room. You can speak with someone there and they will put you in touch with the local agency's that provide services for free or low cost. You can also call a local suicide hot line and they can put you in touch with someone that can help.

Go to your County hospital or County health department. Try toll free counselors if you don't have accsess to either of those. Or see if a local church offers help. The internet can be helpful also.

In my area we have "pastoral counseling services". Here, ministers of all denominations and psychiatric volunteers see people such as yourself free of charge. Also, I don't know your religious affiliation but a pastor can help. Even if you don't have a pastor, seek one out. He or she can help you find the assistance you need.
