Charle Darwin was a devote Christian and even in the orgin of the speicies he credits god in sparking life, in setting the natural world in motion.
So in the classical sence, assuming that one beleives in the church and the concepts of heaven and hell. darwin is in Heaven.
Christians like to demonize Darwin because they cant understand how faith and knowledge can coinside. A lot of biologists that I know veiw the natural world and the exploration of it to be proof of divinity. To some of us Biology proves that there is an intelligent creating force and not many of us hate religion - a few loudmouthes but not all of us. To say Darwin was not a faithful man, not a christian and did not have his own religious convictions - ie he is a horned devil who hated the bible - shows the stupidity of people.
Sceince is a docterine like most of acedemics. However biology teaches its students that nature is incredible and more intellegent that ourselves. There is that old saying that a student of science will first think that faith is useless, that through observation we can know everything - but once the student immerces themsleves they realize that their is more to the world and they become more devote and faithful because they understand the beuty of the world.
People debate and fight over things like stem cell reasearch and evolution when in truth I have asked many to explain what evlution truly is and the most adement agaisnt it cant explain it and dont understand the nuances of the theory, or the history. It seems useless to explain things when people like you cross man and theology. Acedemics with the bible. Those dont belong together. Believe what you may, but let others beleive what they see fit and everyone is happy.
Christ taught us that we are sinners and no one can judge. Why are the christians of today so keen on demonizing people? Be it acdemics like darwin or other faiths? It seems like christians today are more keen on judgement and whose going to hell then they are on learning and appriciating the world and all of its wonders around us, and following the docterine of leading by example and always having open doors to their fellow man. I will quote a bumper sticker I saw. "I like your CHrist, i dont like your christians, they are so unlike your christ."
