Makes no sense.
There is a next life. The question is, which path will you choose? Heaven or Hell.
Choose wisely I'd suggest. But you atheists already know don't you?

If it's worked through consistently, it's got to be a pressure, at least in Christianity.
There are plenty of examples of tearing down altars and smashing idols in the Old Testament. Oh, and "not suffering a witch to live".
But many are inconsistent, for better or worse
(We're all human beings!)
Some believe in judgement and hell for unbelievers but appear indifferent to the fate of others.
(Or why aren't they evangelising 24/7?)
Others see the importance of freedom of belief and free choice and at least social tolerance, but it remains a difficult path to steer between tolerance and acceptance as legitimate.
With some other religions the "many paths up one mountain" concept is more intrinsically tolerant.
(But not necessarily right just because of that! A nice metaphor is not a solid argument.)

It is in my opinion a false statement. Certainty about there being life after this one has nothing to do with lack of tolerance. People who truly believe will be tolerant of others beliefs or lack thereof simply because that is what God asks of us.

It all depends on what you consider "TOLERANCE" My job as a Christian is present the path to salvation. I cant save you, Only Jesus Christ and God the father can give salvation. Jesus Christ said I am the way, the truth and the life, NO man comes unto the Father accept by me. The Christ was beaten, spit on and mocked, he was NAILED to a cross, died and rose again. He was seen by hundreds alive and breathing before he ascended to the father. I know of noone else comming back from the dead, that Christ didnt call up himself. The ones Christ raised from the dead all died again. Christ did not die agian. He left us with a promise, "I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go I will return" I beleive that. This is the gospel I am charged with to tell you. Belief in Jesus Christ gets you to heaven, your works determines your rewards.
I pray that if you have not accepted Christ as your saviour you will.
"for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"
"for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever should call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved"
"for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life"
May God bless you with conviction of the Holy Ghost and you receive salvation today.

If you really believe in what you believe then you should show no tolerance to those who don't share the same beliefs. You should feel sorry for them because they are going to hell.
I agree with the statement. To show tolerance in one life, you have to be a person who believes in a god that forgives and lets you into heaven regardless of your religious belief.

Actually to a point this makes sense. If you believe in the next life then there are rules set down by your diety that say what is and isnt tolerable. Most reliegions agree that Murder, Incest, Rape, Adultery, and Idolotry are not tolerable. Most of them agree that homosexuality isnt tolerable. However there are things they dont agree on. It is not so much tolerance or intolerance that is going to secure your path to heaven or hell but rather what you believe, how strong your faith is, and how well you lived that faith in front of others and shared that faith with others. The mark of a true believer isnt that they die for their faith but rather that they live it daily and that even when things are horrible, ie a family member dying of cancer, they still believe that their diety is with them and will comfort them and support them through that time. That is the truest way of knowing a true believer vs a sham-artist.

I think that is a case of generalization and does not account for many people 'certain' of the next life, who are tolerant members of society.

If you are worthy then you will have the next life free of all the things that are bothersome here on earth.
If you Believe in God, then you know that Jesus is the only way, through Him you get to God, Again in this, I'm not the Judge, God is. I do not want this position at all. It is not our duty to kill all those who are opposed to our Beliefs, God will judge those who are wrong

There's no such thing as "certainty" about the next life--suffice to deal with this life as it rushes towards us!!
