A CENTRAL one.... it's a fear tactic. Christianity is all about fear.

Don't you want to go to Heaven, not Hell?
How can you let Satan control you? Are you evil?
Isn't it better to believe in God and avoid eternal damnation?
Accept Jesus into your heart or you are condemned forever.

It's ALL about fear.

The Hell Law says that Hell is reserved exclusively for them that believe in it. Further, the lowest Rung in Hell is reserved for them that believe in it on the supposition that they'll go there if they don't.

Everything in life (and death) has two sides. Up, down, left right. Christianity teaches that after physical death, you live one. Everyone does! It's your choice (BEFORE physical death) to decide where you want to spend eternal life -- heaven, with God, Jesus and all those other Christians, or Hell-- away from God, in eternal torment.

The key is to choose Jesus before the death of the physical body! No decision means no heaven!

The Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic writers used 4 different words to denote H*ll in the Bible and those words are:

1) Tartarus - used 1x in the Bible
2) Hades - used 10x in the Bible
3) Gehenna - used 12x in the Bible
4) Sheol - used 66x in the Bible

Each of these words DENOTED A DIFFERENT KIND OF HELL (look it up on Wikipedia). However, when "translated" (badly) by Englishmen, they simply made them all "H*ll." WRONG! Each one means something DIFFERENT!!! And they WERE SUPPOSED TO MEAN SOMETHING DIFFERENT!

Gehenna' is a word tracing to Greek, ultimately from the Hebrew: Gehinnom also Gei-ben-Hinnom meaning 'Valley of Hinnom.' The valley, which forms the southern border of ancient Jersualem, is first mentioned in Joshua 15:8. Originally it referred to a garbage dump in a deep narrow valley right outside the walls of Jerusalem (in modern-day Israel) where the fires were kept burning to consume the trash and keep down the stench of the bodies thrown in. It is also the location where bodies of the executed ciminals, or individuals denied a proper burial would be dumped, with lye and sulfur thrown in to cover the stench. Today, Gehenna is often used as a "synonym" for Hell.

Christianity's Tartarus: In the Bible, 2 Peter 2:4, Tartarus is designated as a section of Hades that the Fallen Angels who had produced the Nephilim (Genesis 6:4) were cast into to await judgment by God. It does not figure prominently into the doctrines of Christianity; many translations of the Bible insert Hell in the place of Tartarus. No other specific use of the word Tartarus is in the Bible, however, Jude 6 describes the abode of the same fallen angels mentioned in 2 Peter as "total darkness."

Hades - The unseen world, translated hell in A.V., Matthew 11:23, 16:18; Luke 10:15;16:23; Acts 2:27, 31; Rev. 1:18; 6:8; 20:13, 14. See Hell. It eventually came to designate the abode of the dead.

Sheol - is the Hebrew language word denoting the "abode of the dead"; the "underworld", "the common grave of mankind" or the "pit." It is also transliterated (not translated, but comes out as) Sheh-ole, in Strong's Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries AND Strong's Concordances. In the Hebrew Bible it is portrayed as a cormfortless place BENEATH the earth, beyond gates, where both the GOOD AND THE BAD, slave and king, PIOUS AND WICKED MUST GO AFTER DEATH TO SLEEP IN SLIENCE AND OBLIVION IN THE DUST. In some sources, for example, in Deuteronomy 32:22, Sheol seems to be synonymous with the "depths of the earth." Sheol is the "common destination of both the righteous and the unrighteous dead; the righeous Job sees it as HIS DESTINATION (Job 3). In the Book of Job, while Satan is portrayed as tormenting and testing the living he does NOT appear to have any particular Presidency over Sheol (hell), or to actually Dwell in Sheol.

There is a 5th destructive force, however it cannot be classified as "h*ll." It is "the Lake of Fire" in The Book of Revelation, Chapter 20:14). Lets consider the story of Ananias and his wife Sapphira (Acts, Ch. 5) who both sinned against the Holy Spirit (Ghost). They sold some land and gave "all" to the brothers and sisters in the congregation and bragged about doing so. THEY LIED. They held some back for themselves, which was HONESTLY THEIR RIGHT as the owners of the property! However, their mistake was bragging they GAVE IT ALL. When questioned a 2nd time if they actually DID give it all, Ananias lied again and said "yes" and then dropped dead from the "2nd death" that is from lying to the Holy Spirit. Sapphira, not knowing what happened was brought in and asked the same question, she also lied (again, all she had to do was say, no, we kept part because its our right and she would have been correct), but instead, she too lied to the Holy Spirit and she too dropped dead from the 2nd death, that is from lying or denying the Holy Spirit.

These two individuals will NOT receive a resurrection according to Revelation 20:14, as they will suffer eternal destruction. Meaning they will be "as before they were born." Neither suffering nor knowing anything.

Here in Rev. 20:14 we see where "death and Hades" are BOTH thrown INTO the Lake of Fire, the 2nd Death, the Lake of Fire, to be destroyed eternally!!! So, we see that the Lake of Fire is symbolic for eternal destruction. Much the same way Gehenna was for the destruction it caused! Nothing that goes in comes out. EVEN DEATH will be no more!

IN SHORT, THERE IS NO BURNING HELL!

ZER0 COOL, you have stolen the words from my mouth. Thanks for saving me from having to type that. I use, more less, this same tactic to repel ignorant Christian zealots who try to preach to/at me. Ignorant little sheep.

Hail Satan!
