I have a one of these great guns that used to be my uncles and he passed away about 10 yrs ago and i lost the magazine when i was walking through the woods but did not realize this until later that day i am not sure if it is a mk1 or 2 because the box has been misplaced somewhere in my house and i don't have the time to hunt for it but anyways i need to know if its a mk1or2 so i can order a mag for it also it is blued 4'' barrel about 30 yrs old trigger is stainless and the bottom of the old mag was stainless also the warning note is printed on the opposite side of the chamber and the description where it says ruger .22 long rifle automatic pistol is on the otherside just behind the chamber serial # is16-10889 oh and can somebody please tell me what it is worth -no rust or major nicks. thanx

On the right side, just in back of the ejection port, it should say: Ruger Mark II. If it does not say Mark II, then it is a Mark I. If it is not identified, it is the original, now called the Standard model. I think the Standard and Mark I mags were the same. Order a mag here.

On the MK I, the bolt doesn't lock open after the last shot, while the MK II does. The MK I was produced from 1949-1982, the MK II was produced from 1982-2005. According to Ruger's website, your model is a MK I produced between 1980 and 1981. Value of these models in new condition is around $275.
