Dark circles can be a result of heredity, allergies (stop rubbing your eyes!) or poor nutritional habits. So says Dr. Brian Maloney, a plastic surgeon in Atlanta, Ga. Dark circles can also be caused by not drinking enough water, or from eating too many meat and dairy products. Don’t lose any sleep over it, though—just a dab of concealer will hide those circles. Choose a color that’s a shade lighter than your skin tone, and avoid white. For those with darker skin, choose yellow-based concealers, which counteract the blue in dark circles. Some research also suggests vitamin K helps fade dark circles. Try St. Ives Vitamin K Dark Circle Diminisher.

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

I think people are misinterpreting your question; you're asking for a remedy for dark circles or puffy undereyes? My boyfriend has dark circles naturally under his eyes, and there's nothing you can do about it. Some people just have them. If you're looking for a remedy for puffy eyes, then you have some options: cold brew a couple tea bags and lay them on your eyes, or you could try cold spoons or icy cucumber slices on your eyes as well. Hemorrhoid cream isn't healthy for regular basis; I recommend going with the natural approach.

Take 2 spoons and put them in the freezer for a couple hours. After a while take them out and hold them under your eyes where the circles are. Works for me.

Then you probably need sleep,
Or you have been sleeping too much.
Apply Hemorrhoid cream under your eyes daily to reduce puffiness and dark circles.

that's caused from lack of sleep, lack of good REM sleep, sometimes has to do with a health condition, or maybe even from crying, however I know that Physicians Formula has both in stick and matte form something that goes under makeup. You can buy that at Walgreens.
