Google up credit score websites. Credit Score.com lets you check you're credit but you have to enter credit card info and its a free trial. You can eventually cancel to avoid paying fees. That's what I did. How long have you had those two credit cards, and are they retailer (Macy's) or visa, MasterCard's? If you got denied chances are that you're credit is good, but you haven't built enough. Pay your bills on time, always pay more than the minimum payment.

You should start with requesting your credit report and score. If they are requesting that your record will be clean, you should view your report and see what exactly you need to fix and also get a better idea of what they will find when they pull it. You should also know your credit score from all 3 bureaus, as each will vary a bit. By knowing this information you will know where you stand and you can begin to correct any problems you may have.

Go to: https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp
It's the free official site. There are other credit report sites on line. However, the ones my friends have used are trying to get you to buy a service that's difficult to cancel after your "free" trial period ends. So it's really not that free at all.
