Impossible. Prescribing and distributing oral medication would be practicing medicine without a license. There are options to controlling pain during a tattoo and most of them is based on relaxation. You can learn about this by having a discussion with your artist in a consultation.

A professional artist is generally very light handed because he/she knows what it really takes to tattoo skin - scratchers dig at it and cause pain and scarring.

Well ... I don't think they would. The reasons being, medications can often times thin blood if they have certian ingrediants and thinned blood means more bleeding and more work for the artist. Your tattoo would only take longer. Plus, they ask you if it hurts or if you want this or that. You really don't want to be knocked out for a tattoo. Being awake allows you to communicate whether the lines are too long for you to handle or if you don't want something done. They need your judgement, after all, it's on your body. Talk to local artists if you want reassurance that it isn't necessary to knock a client out. Good luck!

Now why would you want to do that? Tattoos hurt but they don't hurt that bad! I know everyone has different pain tolerances but everyone can handle getting tattooed. Certain places hurt more. Getting tattooed for a long period of time can be annoying, but the pain isn't unbearable. I've never heard of someone being knocked out to be tattooed. I imagine it's illegal. I've heard of numbing creams. But not medication. I wouldn't trust it. I would rather be awake than be asleep. I enjoy the feeling of being tattooed. Hope I could help! :)
p.s. don't let the fear of pain stop you from getting a beautiful piece of work!

No, and DO NOT get drunk beforehand, either. If the tattoo artist is responsible they wouldn't tattoo someone who is obviously drunk anyhow. Alcohol thins your blood, and you would be more prone to bleeding. Other drunks would mess with your system as well, and your body is going through enough as it's being tattooed, you don't want something in your system making things even more crazy.

But don't worry, it's not THAT bad, and it's totally worth it when it's over!

No. Any form of pain killer, alcohol or anesthetic will thin out your blood, which inhibits clotting and can get very messy resulting in your tattoo looking terrible! Most tattooists recommend no pain killers are taken for less than 6 hours before your appointment.

no. no reputable tattoo artist will tattoo you while you're under the influence of a drug or alcohol. you need to be fully sober, alert, and awake when getting tattooed. that's just the way it is.

Nope. Any respectable tattoo artist will not even consider giving you one if he thinks you have been drinking ( drunk) stoned or taken some kind of narcotic to ease the pain.

Tattoos dont hurt that bad so just get it done if you want it done without any type of painkillers or being drunk.

They are definitely not qualified to give a general anesthetic. There are some doctors and even dentists who will. The only reason I know this is that some state laws have been changed recently to permit it. I do not know any names.
