See I deliver pizzas for a living, and don't really like seeing guy's wee wee on the streets in the nudest colony, if a delivery comes, and the way the rotation is, I am 1st on the list, and the nudest colony is on the top of the screen, do I have the right to refuse to take the delivery?

Anyone please answer: Do you think I am blowing this way out of proportion?

First, you feel the way you do. It is what it is. Personally, it wouldn't bother me. But, other people feel things differently. First, I would bring up the conversation with your boss. Explain that you want to do your job, but that is really uncomfortable for you. (If you are under 18, you could use your age as a good reason) If not, talk with the boss and see if you could come up with some alternatives. Is their a gate you have to go in? I would assume they have check points or anything bordering their area? Maybe it could be broached tactfully. Out of respect for their choice and to respect potentially younger drivers, it would be best to have the orderer meet the delivery person at the gate. It is better to go to your boss with alternatives rather than complaints. The goal is to provide good service and to keep customers. If this went wrong, it could lose a lot of long tern clientèle! So, be delicate. Maybe it would be ok for you to swap with another driver who doesn't have a problem with it. You have been courteous by taking the time to think this through! Good luck.!

Whether you are blowing this out of proportion is not the question. You do have the right to say that you are not prepared to deliver to the nudist colony. It is part of your basic rights. The mere fact that they have to have a colony instead of living their life style around all the towns in the country shows that their life style is not one that has to be accepted by all. Many countries completely ban nudism in open areas and the remaining ones all limit where nudism is to be allowed, so yes, you are well within your rights to decline (note, choose to decline, not refuse so if your boss does not accept it & fires you, you then have a case for wrongful dismissal.

Yes, you are "blowing" it out of proportion; interesting terminology you use, as well. I'd say you have some gender issues that you need to resolve if you cannot manage the few seconds it takes to deliver a pizza without checking out the men's wiggly gigglies. Get over it.

>>>blowing this way out of proportion<<<< I think you should have read your question before you posted it. Think about it. LOL

BTW, for those who are answering on here about how immoral nudity is, sure glad that they weren't in the Garden of Eden.

The answer- ask your boss. You may not have an option. I don't believe that legally you do UNLESS it has to do with being under 18yo.

I don't think you are blowing this out of proportion at all.

Just because the rest of the pizza delivery people are okay about delivering to the nudist colony doesn't mean you have to be.

(I wouldn't be okay about it either.)

Talk it over with your boss.

As an employee, you have the responsibility to set your own boundaries and not let other people (who don't care about you as much as they do about money) set them for you.

I don't go into work on Saturday. That is my day of rest.
I know a friend who is an actress. On the first day of class, they gave her a form to fill out asking if she would do a nude scene, kiss a girl on the mouth, do drugs, etc. in the roles that they offered.

To her credit, she checked the things she would not do.

You are in a similar test. What is more important to you, having a clear conscience or dulling it for the sake of money?

If you don't stand for something, (the saying goes), you'll fall for anything.

Have a talk with your boss and tell him that you are not willing to deliver pizzas to that place any longer. (Be ready to look for another job if you need to. There are other pizza shops in town.) Stick to your convictions.

A manager who is worth something will not try to get you to violate your conscience.

If he refuses to listen, you will be doing yourself a favor by giving him two week notice and looking for another job.

Tell the manager first. Then it is his problem about the rotation and who gets it first. Then you are not in conflict with the other guys on the shift.

People have had this man vs. society conflict throughout the ages where the group wants a person to ignore what he thinks is right.

Choose self-respect and purity. You will grow as an individual and people will respect you even if they don't agree.

Learn to say NO. Set your boundaries and don't apologize for them.

You have the right to refuse to take the delivery.

But your boss has the right to get someone who will do the work that needs to be done. You probably won't be needed after he hires someone that is willing to do the whole job.

Yes, you're blowing this way out of proportion.

You certainly have the right to ask to be relieved of nudist colony delivery duty, but your employer has the right to fire you for actually refusing to make those deliveries if he declines to relieve you and you do refuse to make the deliveries anyway.

I think that you're making a big deal out of it. Talk to your boss. If he tells you that you are required to go, and you fail to comply, you'll most likely be fired.

edit: And it's nudist, not 'nudest'. >.<

I think that you're blowing it way out of proportion. No pun intended.

Your emotional reaction is the result of social and home conditioning. "Normalcy" is not common. Normal would be to do your job and not be concerned about the exposure as long as you were not required to get involved in the customer's social habits. The nudity will go on whether you deliver the pizzas or not...whether you approve of it or not and, to be frank, their dress code is none of your business and I hope you do not violate their privacy an gossip about it.
