destroying a sim card and cell phone without that person knowing?

hi there
my brother has a drug problem, and we want to destroy his cell phone and his sim card without him knowing it because we dont want him talking to his shady friends no more, the aim of the game is to get rid of all the numbers.
also we dont want it too look like we have tampered with it. so no permanent physical signs of us tampering with it...
any ideas for both a phone and a sim card?
water can be used, ill just dry it off before he finds it.... any others?

Well I know you do not want him to know it was you but if you really want him to understand you guys dont want him with those people any more you could do what I would do. Take him, the sim card, and the cell phone out in front or back of your house. Put the phone and sim card on the ground. Now you have a choice. Either jump on them until they smash or take a hammer to them. He will get the point.

Or:
you could just throw them away when he isnt around. then it looks like he lost them.

or:
you could just got through and delete everything off his phone and sim card. Then he would no longer have the numbers.

or: accidently (wink wink) spill your soda all over the phone and sim card and oops you dont realize you did it so the phone and sim card get to soak for a while!!

well first off he can just get another phone and his friends will call him so he will have the numbers back. If you really wish to do something to the phone just delete all the numbers out of the phone then if you go to the phone settings their will be a option for a master reset that will clear everything out of the phone. I would suggest a intervention with your brother and help him with the problem not just try to find ways to avoid the conversation and keep him from the problem. honestly if he has a drug problem he will do what he needs to to get the drugs

When he isn't around take his phone hide it until he is no longer in the house. Burn/Destroy/Take Apart the phone, and find a road and leave it on the side of the road or somewhere he won't ever see it again. Tell him he misplaced it, look and act like you don't know where it is. Then after a few days give up the search.

Put it next to the strongest magnet you can find! But listen, he will find the numbers again. Ya'll need to take drastic measure for a drug problem! Send him to a LONG court ordered rehab far far away. I would even endorse causing him to get accidently lost in a jungle with only aboriginies to help him survive.
