Hi, I bought a new sony digital camera with Li-ion battery and I want to know how much time I need to keep it in the charger the first time? and If i need to start charging the battery when I receive the camera or I can use it until the charge that comes from fabric get over?

And because is a digital camera for the family, maybe it will be periods of time without using it, so how I need to keep my battery that periods of time? at 1/2 charge, or complete charge and in or out the camera?

You need to charge the battery before using the camera the first time. It probably wont take more than a couple of hours to charge - there should be a charge indicator light on the charger itself that will let you know when the battery is fully charged and ready for use.

If you won't be using the camera for a while, the recommendation for Lithium ion batteries is to store them at 40% charge. I would also take them out of the camera.
