I mean like you have to hold onto the wall to walk or you just can't walk or you have to get someone to help you walk around

While we are at it, does anyone know why these occur? Mine seem to come at any time - I might stretch my legs when I wake up and the leg (usually my right one) will get stuck in a cramp. Sometimes in the gym, I tense my calf for the next movement - the cramp comes and I end up having to sit out. Are there health issues or is it something that just happens along with hiccups and headaches?

Yes those are very painfull!! It's caused by deficiency in potassium, and/or calcium. The best thing to do when you get a cramp like that is to slowly stretch it out, or trust me...it will hurt 10 times worse the next day! ;)

OUCH! That hurts but to get rid of a calf cramp fast you plant your foot on the floor, straighten your leg, and slowly lean forward to bend your ankle in the shape of a 7. It will release quickly.

I used to get charlie horses in my feet and calves. With a calf, I just stretch slowly and it eventually relaxes.

I have heard that muscle cramps like that are caused by low calcium. So if you don't consume enough calcium in your diet, get a calcium supplement with magnesium and Vitamin D. Vitamin C helps, too.

I wake up with cramps!
Sometimes I get anxiety attacks about sleeping because I don't want to wake up in pain.

I've noticed drinking lots of water helps. Also vitamins. Calcium, potassium and all the "B" vitamins.

Yes, it hurts like hell, and its real hard to walk when that muscle decides to cramp up. Whatever you do, dont try to stretch it out, it just hurts more.

Sounds like you may be deficient in potassium, calcium, magnesium or Vitamin B6.

one of the most painful experiences ever. i usually get them when i swim for the first time in a long time. that's scary cuz you actually believe that you might drown. other times, i'll get them randomly while sleeping. and then i'll be sore for about 2 days.

I stick my leg straight out then point my foot as far back toward my leg as possible.

Works every time.
