Is it bad for me and what are the conseqences ? Please do not give me your opinions, i want straight FACTS. Thanks so much any true information is greatly apreciated.

to be honest the best way is not to go on a diet as ive tried them all and diet pills and they dont work lol but just change your diet and go swimming 4-5 times a week for about an hour each time it tones your tummy and all your body up wonderful too ! i lost 2 stone since may its great and i eat loads too im just eating the right foods but instead of swimming try aqua arobics its great and really fun ! great question star for you and goodluck !

I do not know why exactly but I would assume it is the supplements that are added. Age is a guide but if you are under 18 your body is very much still developing and the amounts of certain vitamins etc that are in the protein shake may not be suitable.
If you are really you can get your protein from other sources such as lean white meat chicken. It really does not have to come from the shake.

protein supplements have been in use for over 40 years now, they are nothing new. medical study has show them to be effective in sustaining muscle mass, helping to increase muscle mass and fat loss in both the young and old, male and femal. protein supplements are nothing but a powdered version of that food item with all of the uneeded substances removed to increase the rate at which they are metabolized.

the warning on the label makes absolutely no sense but it does not surprise me. just because a company manufactures a product doesn't mean they know anything about it. I've seen supplements labled with descriptions and dosages that are completely inaccurate.

As long as it's just plain protien powder, it should be fine! Plain, regular Whey protien powder will help you build muscle and you won't have to worry about harmful effects. Just remember that protien shakes are NOT a meal replacement- you have to eat meat, egg whites, ect. Whey protien is excellent as a fast-digesting protien source that is perfect to taker right after a workout.

As always, I advise all my clients, both young and old to check with their personal physician before changing their diets or starting an exercise program. (Had to add in that little disclaimer :))

Contact the manufacturer and ask why it isn't safe for 18 year olds to consume their protein shake. It doesn't hurt to ask the sales reps that distribute these meal supplements.
