put the tooth in some milk or saline solution to preserve it and get to the dentist....they usually have emergency numbers and they can usually repair it or just pull out the remainder and you will have a hole

It really depends on what the root is like. If its only the top that's broken up and fallen out and the root is still firmly attached, then it may be possible to have it crowned. If the root itself is also rotten, then that will have to come out. I recently had a dental implant done for a molar - it's fabulous! Maybe some dentists put you to sleep to do the procedure, but I only had a local anaesthetic and it was painless. They implant a titanium post into your jaw, which then has to sit there for a few months while it heals up and integrates itself with your jawbone (mine was left for three months). Once it's all healed they then put a crown on the top and you can use it like a natural tooth. I can honestly say I didn't have any pain at all from the whole procedure (not even after the anaesthetic wore off) - I really thought after all the drilling into the jawbone, there'd be at least an ache or something, but no. It cost me $5000 Australian to get it done, but it's well worth it. If you don't want to get an implant done, then you could consider a bridge. However, this involves damage to the two adjoining teeth so that the missing tooth can be anchored in place. This is OK, so long as you take really good care of your teeth, but any damage to a tooth gives the potential for decay to get in. Personally, if you can afford it, I'd go with the implant.

You might get some Anbesol to have on hand in case it starts to bother you. Avoid chewing on that side, of course, and avoid extremely hot or cold foods, and stick with softer stuff until your dentist can have a look at it.
Good luck!

There's not much else you can do besides go to the dentist.
You normally put teeth that have fallen out prematurely in milk, but since it's cracked in half, i would say you're boned.

Put the tooth under your pillow and wait for the tooth fairy to take it.
