I have many piercings, ears, eyebrow, lip, septum, nipples and genitals. I think smokey my cat would look great with septum and nipple piercings but realise some people might think it's cruel what should I do?

I dont think you should do it. The cat should be the one to decide and as you cant ask him/her then you cant know what the answer would be. Cats still have rights. Your cat probably trusts you and may not after this as I imagine piercing would be more painful for a cat than a human. If you are that intent on doing it maybe get a toy cat and do it on that instead just to get it out of your system and see what it would look like...but still dont do it for real. Its too cruel and Smokey wont understand.

Sure, my Mon also thought that I looked great in those bow tied in the back girlie dresses till I was 14 years old. And then one day she decided I need another piercing in my ear because all my friends have one, (by the way I did not want another piercing), so she did and I got a really nice, infected piercing, that swallowed and hurt as hell for a month, luckily it is gone.
That was nothing in comparison to some friend who had an infected breast piercing.... I looked like she was milking....
Think about it and DON'T do it. It is unnatural, and selfish. And It is not your cat's choice.

I would think it cruel to pierce a cat, if only for the reason that in its outdoor adventures it could get caught up in tree branches, for example, and either be trapped or else pull out the metal, with resulting pain and danger of infection.
For goodness' sake, don't think of any kind of mutilation near sensitive areas. Septum? Nipples? Hell's teeth!
The ancient Egyptians (who literally worshipped cats) used to give them gold earrings. That wouldn't matter in itself - our cats have got into fights that left them with ragged ears, which they seem not to mind - but, wearing rings, they are in danger of worse injury, as above.

Aside from the fact that this is a bizarre question, I'm going to answer it anyway. Yes, it is cruel. I say this because you were given the choice (your own) to put yourself through the pain and aftercare of your piercings, however your cat cannot speak for himself. I have several piercings and aside from the short pain of getting them they were a pain to take care of while they were healing but I knew that going into it.

You also have to consider that cats rub against everything, especially with their faces. Your cat could get stuck on something, irritate the piercing and/or rip it out entirely, causing horrible pain and lovely vet bills. Speaking of the vet, I'm sure your vet would most likely call the SPCA come check-up time as they wouldn't find the piercings nearly as amusing as you.

I'm sure in your head this would be a lovely novelty to you and your friends but seriously, leave the amusement for your own body. I feel sorry for your cat that you even considered this.

I think that's technically considered to be 'cruelty to animals' and I doubt anyone would do the work for you because they'd risk having their licence revoked. If you did somehow get the work done then you'd likely have the RSPCA at your door as soon as someone saw your cat with a piercing.

Think about it this way- if you couldn't speak, or communicate in any tangible way, how would you feel if someone decided you'd look good with a pierced face, took you off against your will and had it done to you? Not really fair, is it?

I wouldn't advise it- you'll just end up losing your cat.

well, you're the one that pierced. If you remember the pain you experienced, then doubled it. It would be the pain your cat feels.
Plus a cat's nipple, a nipple in general, is a sensitive area and it may get infected. another con is the fact that a cat's nose is crucial to it's everyday life. Obstructing it's ability to smell is a bad thing also. :(
and a cat's ear can be easily infected. if you really love your cat then don't do it.

Like having a child's ears pierced this would be considered cruel and unnecessary! And I'm not sure what alternative you could use for the word 'chav' for a cat with a piercing like you would a child! ;)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that would fall under cruelty to animals!...I really hope you're not seriously considering this. Aside from the pain they will suffer getting pierced, they are likely to get a piercing caught on something and possibly cause injuries to the kiddy :( Maybe just get another piercing for yourself!! lol.

Don't be stupid. You are cruel to even consider it if this is real. Get a clue! Doing their septum and nipples is horrific and they could tear it lose, Even if you did the ear, the cat's ear will become dead and lifeless if you put a hole in it, they are not like us. (in your case your cat is probably smarter) Just give YOURSELF another piercing.

Leave the piercing for yourself. There is no reason to put the poor cat through the pain. It didn't choose to be decorated and have the pain. It's only a poor animal, leave it alone.
