I face these types everyday as we all do, and I am seeing a trend happening.... more rudeness and ego tripping and less consideration for 'the other guy'. So why is it more and more people are getting their kicks just ego tripping?

They do it because their life is miserable and they want to take it out on somebody. They have made the wrong choices and are unhappy with themselves, when they make someone elses life a living hell, it gives them a false sense of satisfaction that at least they are not that person. These people have a secret pain that they are trying to hide by acting out.

A believe than daddy and mommy didn't love their children enough to make them into well-rounded adults. Some people don't have the courage to stand on their own, so if they can point to being better/funnier/smarter/cooler than another person, they can rationalize their own faults and sleep well at night.

Is this referring to Q&A? If so, answering questions in a way to illuminate and educate is not intended to make people miserable. Agreeing with everything a person has to say helps not at all. And, it seems someone has offended your sensibilities, boo-hoo.

It's because they are miserable, angry, or abusive individuals. They are probably on a power trip. They want to think they are in control. Probably have low self esteem. Maybe got picked on in school ( probably for being jerks)

Because they are miserable in their own life. They do not want you to feel any better then they do.

because they themselves are miserable, and its psychological. tearing down somebody else makes them feel better about themselves. they may get a good laugh out of it, but that's because they are psychologically ill. lol.
