Is he fixed? If not he may be craving the attention of a female cat. Sometimes males will still do this after their fixed if an unfixed female is in the vicinity. If you really feel like you don't want him anymore please make sure you either find him a good home, or place him in a no-kill shelter. It sucks that you don't want him because of a little thing like meowing, but please try to at least find him a place to go before you toss him out on his A$$!

Well I think if you really wanted to get rid of him you wouldn't have come here for help so that's good for you! :)
Anyway.... I think you got your answer from practically everyone who responded. Kitty needs to be neutered!! As soon as he's old enough I would get that done because he won't just howl all the time, but he'll spray all over the place!! And if he's old enough to want to mate (meowing n howling) he's most likely ready to be fixed. BTW on a good note, neutering is cheaper than spaying. From my experience tho... even after they're fixed it may take a bit to see a change in their behavior, but he will calm down.
When my boy and girl (fixed) kitties act up I go down my mental check list.
1. Do they have food and water?
2. Is their litter box dirty? (my male cat is so picky I have to use scoop litter and keep it poop n pee free at all times!!! lol, but true.
3. Are they in pain? Just do a quick leg, foot, tail and mat check.
4.Last but not least... look outside for another cat that's NOT fixed as they still come a lookin (horny as toads I tell ya)!!!! lmao!
OH! Almost forgot... check for obvious boo-boos and sometimes mine meow a lot when they have a hairball coming up.
If all that fails I'd make an appointment with the vet asap.
Take care and good luck! :)

If the cat would happen to be a female-unless you know for sure, females meow constantly when they are in heat.
It is not normal for a male cat to meow constantly. If it is neutered, it may have a kidney or bladder problem. Both are extremely painful. Meowing is the way for the cat to express pain. Even if not neutered, it may be ill. I really suggest making a vet appointment ASAP.

Well thats a stupid reason to get rid of him! Give the cat some attention! Meowing is how felines communicate to HUMANS so your cat obviously wants something from you.

Your cat could be in pain...look for signs....

If not he may need something else...he could be out of food or water..... or he may just be needing your attention....

It's like a baby...they cry but you don't know what they need....but there is usually a reason...and it's your job to figure it out....a pet is a responsibilty...and shouldn't just discard him.....

A meow is his only way to communicate with you.

He obviously needs something.

He may be wanting to mate if he is not fixed. So if that's the case maybe fixing him would help stop the meowing

He may want food, water or attention. If you keep him inside, especially if you haven't had him his whole life and he may be used to being outside in the past, he may just get bored in the house. I know some vigilante people out there will say letting your cat outside is horrible, but my kitties love it and would be miserable if i tried locking them inside. I've never had a cat get hit by a car or run away. If you let it outside, just make sure it's not declawed, and it's fixed and up to date with shots.

No don't get rid off him. Meany! If he is neutered then he probably wants to go outside. My female cat is fixed and does the same thing - she just thrives on being outside. She will literally pace from door to door meowing if she doesn't get her way.

Is he neutered? Or playing? You sound really mean! When my cats meows playfully, it's cute. And if you haven't neutered him, just go get that done and he will be a great cat. He could be bored, or he could just sense how boring you are.

If he isn't fixed, (neutered) he is probably smelling a female somewhere in the neighborhood that is in heat (ready to breed).

Take him to the vet and get him neutered. It keeps them healthier in the long run and you don't have to deal with them howling and yowling all the time.

He will also become more affectionate to you.
