My trainer told me that lifting wouldn't stunt your growth as long as you lift less than what you weigh.

I was lifting weights once and it was so heavy that i had a horrible hernia. My left testicle was sucked far up into my sac and i yelped out "Fiddlesticks!!!"

Weight lifting will not stunt your growth using any weight. There is no scientific evidence to prove this. Sounds to me like your trainer needs a refresher course.

time to get a new trainer.

there is absoultely zero medical data that supports statements that resistance training stunts the growth of the human skeletal system. and I'm not quite sure where he got the part about using less weight than you weigh but it is completely false.
