for those that gain weight easily as early in the day as possible. when you have decreased metabolic function it's best to take advantage of any afterburn effect from the result of high intensity exercise. the metabolic rate decreases faster at night when the level of body fat is high so any afterburn increase would also decrease faster.

for optimum gains in muscle mass early in the day is also better. the body is in a catabolic state after a session of high intensity exericise and even after feeding it takes at least one more meal before the body is in an anabolic state. when you exercise early each training session is followed up by a a couple of meals and a probably a snack. if you train late at night there isn't enough time to consume enough food to really get the body back into an anabolic state before sleep. this would not be optimum for growth as 60% of muscle growth occurs at night when the body is properly stimulated and feed

There is no real "best time" when considering effectiveness of the exercise. The best time would be the time that works best for you and fits into your schedule. For most people, this is all they need to think about just to get them to exercise at all. Just be sure that if you do exercise in the mornings you do not do it on an empty stomach - exercising on an empty stomach will only further extend the catabolic effects of sleep, which will actually hinder bodyfat loss and prevent muscle tissue generation.

i would advise a workout to be before you have your rest/nap this is the time when your muscle starts to develop and recovery of tissues thus makes you gain mass/strength quicker

i like working out in the morning because it's one less task to do but if i don't drink a protein shake after i get very tired half way through my day. i sometimes work out in the afternoon which i like a lot too because i get to blow off steam that collected itself throughout my day ;-) but if i had to choose i'd go with afternoon because i don't have to worry about the tired feeling i get sometimes from working out in the morning.

MORNING! Right before breakfast. Ya see you havent had anything to eat since dinner so when you excercise your body uses excess body fat for fuel. Then after your excercise session have breakfast and that gets your metabolism running!!!!

it all depends on you. there really isn't a specific time to work out. it's when you've got time....the catch is to try and work out the same days as far as routine....
1st week =sat. mon. wed. friday.
2cd week =sun. tues. thurs. sat.

personally, i think three times a week at no more than two hours is efficient enough.
