I have already shot an e-mail to NASCAR.
Baisicly it is this,
The fans of the SPORT are tired of the slap on the wrist approach by NASCAR in dealing out punishments. The time has come for the sanctioning body to step up and send teams home when violations are found at the pre race inspections. The suspending a crew cheif is nothing,he still has diner or phone conversations with various team members.Fines are chicken feed.
Sure this could in theory take a major team out for a race but this has to be done to prove that NASCAR is not playing favorites.
This is the jest of my e-mail.Sure it is harsh and by some wrong but to give this sort of pennelty would get the sponsor to take notice.
Sorry to offend ar make people angry but the time has come to race and get rid of the "grey" area.

The situation with Hendricks is the most unique one in NASCAR History. This is the first time a Team was penalized by a rule that was created right on the spot in the garage. What they are accused of violating was not even in the rules books. Both cars fit the template; yet NASCAR decided it wanted to make a new rule and an example of the violators of that new rule.

I am growing tired of everyone thinking Hendricks gets special privaleges. If Friday has not taught us anything, it should've taught us that no Team is immuned from NASCAR's "make up the rules as you go". All Season the Junior Nation has cried and whinned that Hendricks has been getting the royal treatment from NASCAR; and now that Hendricks is against the wall and getting slammed hard; Ya'll are still whinning and crying that NASCAR is showing favoritism.

If anything NASCAR went out of it's way to make an example out of the 24 and 48 Team to invoke a rule it made up that very day the very minute those cars popped into the garage. If anything it should be the Hendricks Nation crying foul. How can you penalize a Team for a rule that isn't even on the books?

But the Bigger Issue – Now that they’ve been busted, the real question is what penalties the two Hendrick Motorsports teams will face. As many have pointed out, neither points, nor money, nor crew chief suspensions are really going to make a big difference at HMS. Both Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson are all but guaranteed starting spots in the Chase, and with the new 10-point per race bonus system, both will be seeded on top of the standings after Richmond. What do you think would be an approriate and effective penalty? What do you think the penalty will actually be?

lets just say Nascar changes its rules every week. i am deffinately a Hendrick fan--and i do not believe they even cheated (I mean come on, if they knew they were cheating do you think they would have done this to 2 cars BEFORE inspection..no way!) plus people keep saying they have obviously been cheating more this year because of all their wins but Nascar has checked every Hendrick car after a win VERY carefully from what I have heard. So, I guess Nascar will take from JG what other drivers have failed to yet this year--take points away. But if it is more than 100pts. then i go back to Nascar never keeps the same rules..it seems that everytime something comes up a new rule appears to make people happy or to make fans happy. So make some rules up and KEEP THEM THE SAME.

I'm a firm believer that penalties should increase for repeat offenders. If the owner/crew chief/organization gets fined for an offense once, and then twice, and three or four times, then the penalty should increase each time. So Chad Knaus would be screwed. It's not an anti-Hendrick thing, it's a pro-racing thing. If Junior's car was messed with again this season, I'd say the fine should double. Same goes for everyone. If they DON'T fine them at least as much as Junior, Kurt Busch and the others, then I'll begin agreeing with Tony Stewart and his "NASCAR has become pro wrestling" stance.

The only way to "protest" anything is NOT go to races. Tickets won't get sold, seats will be empty, beer won't be bought and merchandise won't be sold. Stay home and watch it on TV.

I will say that NASCAR better watch what they do for this one. I am a Hendrick fan, but I am expecting the 100k/100 point/100 owner point penalty (plus the crew chiefs suspended) to come because they were caught with an infraction and NASCAR had stated that they were cracking down on that and no matter who it is, they get the penalty (hey I may not like it, but oh well.)

However, what's going to scare me a bit is if they do happen to give the 24 and the 48 a penalty that is more than the 3 100's, I personally think (maybe I am slightly biased because I am a Hendrick fan) that will be unfair because that penalty is what they had given Kurt Busch for endangering a life (minus the crew chief suspension) on pit road. So we'll just have to wait and see on Tuesday when NASCAR gives out the penalty.

Before the beginning of the season all teams were told if there was a grey area to contact NASCAR & they would not tolerate anyone messin with this car. That being said Knaus has always pushed the grey areas & so far as cheating he is the most bothersome in all this. I think Jeff Gordon's crew chief was just following Knaus's lead. NASCAR will prob give them the same penalties as all the rest before them which I will agree for Gordon, but tough to swallow in the case of Knaus. For some the penalties will never be what they want them to be & for some it will be too much, will everyone agree? prob not. Just my opinion.

Nascar can say what they want but in the end 24 and 48 should have been able to fix those gray areas that they found and be done with it. As far as the favoritism goes I do not think there will be any. It is what it is and Nascar will do as they wish and play there role as God and upset a bunch of people. It just can't be like the old days, huh.

i think even if they tried they stuck themselves in a corner after what they did to Dale Earnhardt, Jr with the 100/100/$100k

that said NASCAR keeps saying the penalty is gunna go up so maybe 150 or 200 points/money?

either way still a slap on the wrist seeing as how 24 will still be leading and 48 will drop all of one spot..which wont matter because thats 1 and 2 in points when the Chase starts

Mary had a little lamb, it's fleece was white as snow, and everywhere the haters went the lamb was sure to go. How about a 5 million dollar fine, suspended for 900 races, and prohibited from going to the Senior Prom next year. Would that sate the Gordon Haters??? Now for all you haters, if the point system hadn't been changed, Gordon would be working on his 6th or 7th Champ by now. Thats why nascar changed things, they didn't want Gordon as the dominator.
