If they are peeing, because you are not taking them out to pee often enough, and they can't help it, they will still pee. If they are marking their territory, this may stop when they are neutered. It never begins if they are neutered before they start this habit. If they have already started, there is a 50-50 chance that they may continue it as a habit they already have. If however they have just started this, and they are still young, chances are they will stop marking. But I repeat they must be taken on walks more often, at least for a while, to get used to doing this only on the soil and not in the house.

It will limit some of the "marking" tendencies; but if they are not educated to "relieve" themselves outside or in a litter box or on a special paper.....then they will continue to pee everywhere as needed. Train them and see that they generally "go" outside or where designated; if they do, then fixing them will definitely help. Otherwise it's all a matter of training and all the neutering in the world won't help. Good luck.

Having your dogs fixed won't really stop them from peeing in the house. Sometimes by having them fixed they're not so stubborn and they may not pee. I know that in the case of my 2 dogs this didn't work and the only way they didnt pee on the floor was by toilet training them. We did this by having newspaper on the floor and we taught them to use this to go on the toilet. When we bring them inside we have it in several places and they have learnt to go on the paper.

Neutering should help with the problem since male dogs tend to literally have pissing contests with each other.

I'm going to assume you got the dogs relatively recently. Hopefully they haven't urinated on your carpet. When we got our puppy he had accidents all over the house at first and was finally house broken (after he was neutered). However, if he had to go and we weren't there to take him out, he continued to pee on the same exact spots. We moved into another house and he hasn't had a single incident so I'm guessing since there aren't any previous pee spots he doesn't have the desire to mark anything.

So basically I believe that if the dogs have peed on a surface that can hold the urine smell they will most likely continue to urinate on that same spot. I'd suggest neutering them, definitely. Also, you should be letting them out or taking them out to go to the bathroom first thing every morning as dogs have to go after waking. Also consider putting up their water by 9 pm every night. If the problem persists after they are neutered you might have to consider taking them to behavior classes.

As far as the urine is concerned, the best product I have found to remove the urine AND the smell is Urine Off. You can go to the web site and see if your local vet carries it or you can order it online. They have dog and cat versions. It truly saved my carpet and hard wood floors.

Good luck, I know how utterly frustrating things like that are...you want to pull your hair out! :-)

no it will not. Training and thorough cleaning of the spot will. Neutering will not change housetraining issues. Get crates for them to sleep in - when you let them out in the morning take them outside and let them go, then praise them. Marking is not exclusive to unneutered males...one of the most persistant markers in this household is a neutered male and I've seen females mark territory too. Neutering will not change that absolutely. My worst "offender" is a female.

Having your dog fixed may help with temperment issues, but I suggest you try to potty train the correctly for this to work.
& maybe clean up so that they do not pee on items on the floor would be nice too.
:]

it stopped my male dog from lifting his leg. After they are neutered it take a little while for their testosterone to go away so there will still be some leg lifting for a couple of weeks afterwards . But then they stop and never do it again. It is worth it to get them fixed

Neutering will help stop marking. Im assuming since you said DOGS, that means there are more than 1 intact male.. they are marking over each other, most likely.

if peeing inside it is just marking its territory. get him fixed and he will stop peeing inside.

Yes. But I WOULD NOT GET THEM FIXED! Because my grandma had a friend and she went to get her dog fixed and she was knocked out so they could do the surgery. Well after the surgery was done, she never woke up and died in her sleep! Please don't get your dog fixed, I don't want that to possibly happen to your dog!
