Why not go back to school? There are now online courses, which will enable you to finish high school or get a degree in 2 years while you work. An education is a long-term investment. It will put you in good jobs. It will also give you a lot of self-respect. Money is not everything. There are learning years and earning years. It is generally not a good idea to prioritize work before education. It is like putting the cart before the horse.

Peace and blessings!

GED would make you more presentable to "EMPLOYERS", but if you have developed skills on your own, you should pursue that as your long term goal. Again, getting a GED would be helpful to you in the short term, but I will advise strongly against going to ITT, because I graduated from there 12 years ago. There were no jobs (most had been shipped to India by the time I graduated), and their financial aid people screwed up my loans while I was still in school, and I graduated with a glitch in my credit. That translated to no employer wanting to hire me in my field. When I finally did get something related to what I went to school for, I has been almost as low paying as service work.

I currently make less than $10/hour for what I went to school for because I work for small companies and I'm paid under the table like an illegal immigrant. Bad credit is like a criminal record, and don't ever expect ITT to give you job placement assistance.

Quick advice. Keep earning income for now, but put interest into becoming better at putting computers together. There are people on ebay who do nothing but buy overstock or slightly outdated computer parts and sell complete computers back on ebay at a discount to retail.

If you do pursue secondary education (which requires a GED), then go take a course in air conditioning, engine diagnostics or some other mechanical field, as they'll cost lest than $1500 and get you a better income, and they'll always be in demand.

I don't recommend going into serious debt for any more schooling, and it looks like you already have more general aptitude for survival skills than most of the suburban idiots I graduated with. It's these said suburban idiots who need your skills the most.

Good luck. Don't become a hopeless slave like me.

Your best Option?- Go & get another of those low paying jobs- and take Classes towards getting your GED at night. Because virtually any employer who pays more than Minimum Wage- is NOT going to hire YOU- when he is being swamped with Applications from High-School Grads. And do it NOW- because the longer you're away from school- the HARDER it is to go back. Good luck.

Fast food chains are a standard for part time jobs. Go to nearby stores, or a mall and see if there's anywhere you can apply.

probably a job that doesn't need a degree, well duh. if i were you i'd work at some kind of a nice store like Kohl's or Target or a nice resturant? I think for some kind of a computer job you need a degree. i would try to get another education. or maybe a lifegaurd or something. i'm sorry if i didn't help. good luck!

I would recommend getting your GED, going to ITT Tech and getting a computer degree. You can go from $6 to $45,000 in 2 years. Not bad at all......
