Is there a place - I'll make this up - The Center For Arson Research - maybe sponsored by insurance companies - where you can go to inquire whether your tenants have had - for example - clothes dryer fires - at prior residences.
I am evicting some bad actors and right at the end my house was on fire due to a clothes dryer fire. I am suspicious.

If you had a Police report made due to the fire, the follow up investigator should be able to cross reference the individuals names. Unfortunately, many clothes dryer fires are caused by negligence. Failure to clean the lint trap on a gas dryer, and piling clothes toward the rear of an electric dryer have been known to cause fires due to extreme heat build up, and poor ventilation.

For what it's worth, I had a clothes dryer catch fire one evening while we were all eating supper. No big deal, but it sure could have been if we weren't at home when it occured.

Talk to your insurance agent. He has a vested interest in knowing if some dirt bags are burning up houses - for any reason.

Short of re-checking past places that they rented or checking criminal histories, I don't think there is a clearing house for that info. I would notify the police of your suspicions, they may check it out for you.
