The reason many talk radio shows are doing so well is because people are looking for an alternative voice and different opinions.
Most all of the news via paper & TV from both local & national news markets are very biased towards a liberal, left-leaning, Democratic slant.
Since people can get as much left slanted news from all the traditional sources they are turning to other forms of media to get another side.
The free market is a wonderful thing. This is exactly why we need to keep the government out of restricting our freedom of speech.
Talk radio does well because the people want it.

1 - I do listen to talk radio occasionally
2 - TV doesn't have the liberal bias that the conservative media (FOX mostly) makes it out to be, absence of conservative bias is not the evidence of a liberal bias. The only mainstream network that could even be worthy of the term "liberal media" is CNN, and even then, It's only from about 5-11 PM in the central time zone.
3 - I rarely hear truth on talk radio, on either the Conservative side, nor the Liberal side - I hear somebody ranting about an issue, repeating the same basic thought for the entire program, when someone calls in with an opposing opinion, the host shouts the caller down, or hangs up, same with in-studio/on-phone guests.
4 - The nation is at stake -- Because morality legislation, the slow death of Civil liberties, refusal to give all groups equal civil rights, and corruption

Many people do, but as in television, there is a wide range of information you hear on talk radio. Listening to Howard Stern isn't quite the same as listening to NPR (national public radio).

there are a sort of communicate Radio (marvel jock type ala Howard Stern) and political (ala Al Sharpton and Rush Limbaugh) so while you're speaking with regard to the political then no. marvel Jocks, optimistic, i admire Tom Lykis :D My important issue with Political Radio Hosts is they're too one sided and if every physique disgarees with them, they only close them up, or dangle up on them, alongside with their travelers, comparable reason I won't watch the O'Reily ingredient.

Not everyone. Primarily moderates and Conservatives. The only Liberals that listen to it are just looking for ammunition to use against Bush or other Republicans.
I don't agree with everything I hear on talk radio but you have to admit, it probably help turn back the recent IMMIGRATION AMNESTY legislation.

The music these days pretty much sucks and that's what turned me on to talk radio. Yeah it's great! There are a lot of good programs not strictly politically motivated.

Nothing wrong with being liberal based, although people that are extreme to one side or the other are nuts. I lean to the left but extreme liberals scare me just as much as extreme conservatives. Both lack common sense.
To answer your question, I've never listened to talk radio... I'm much more of a musical person when the radio's on. Thanks for the tip though.

I watch & listen to all types of news including talk radio.
My favorite is the Clark Howard show (money advice) but I listen to some others until they cross the line & then it is quiet in my car. I do agree that tv media is very biased & that our country is at a turning point to see what direction we go in.

I absolutely love conservative talk radio. It's the only way to get honest accurate news, not that liberal cr@p that fills the t.v.

I don't.
I thought it was funny that S. Feinstein was thinking of bringing back the 'fairness doctrine' so that conservative talk radio would have to present both sides.
I don't think she has for a second considered what that would mean to the NY Times and others ALSO having to present both sides...
I use the internet, but I really have to do research.
