Does Intelligent Design theory include the possiblity that our universe was intended by its designers to be FREE of life, but became accidentally contaminated by DNA? Perhaps our universe is a FAILED design?

Perhaps "failed" is too strong a term. But could life be an unintended, unforeseen consequence of an otherwise "Intelligent" design? Why do advocates of Intelligent Design often assume that the designer or designers are perfect, omniscient and omnipotent?

That is not intelligent design theory. It is pretty close to what happened though. The Universe was made by a scientist in a lab. Life then evolved in it. It was supposed to have more dimensions, but many of them collapsed.

Intelligent Design is a superstition not a theory . And life is not perfect, this is a fact . We hold the intelligence of awareness and thought and only we can try to correct the inherent flaws that undermind our survival and well being.
if we aren't part of the solution we are usually the part of the problem. don't throw out the baby with the bath water the blights of life can be extricated from life itself in time and some already have .
