Drinking things to fast or swallowing air are usually what triggers hiccups.

I don't drink but I get hiccups when I eat fast. The air gets trapped bettween the food that i'm cheweing down.. and I think that's a way it gets out? or do you have to fart to get it out.. I Have no idea..

Well you puke or throw up when you drink to much some times you cant throw up so you hiccup!

It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with drinking. Nobody knows the cause, but for some reason, the diaphragm goes into spasms.
