One thing that I love that people think is weird:
I spread a piece of bread with peanut butter then put chili soup on top of it, and kind of fold it up like a taco. It really good and people should try it!

The weirdest thing I ever ate was sashimi (raw fish) from a fish that was still flopping around the plate. It tasted OK, but it was definitely not worth all the guilt of watching that poor fish! I like my sashimi dead, thank you. Fresh good: living, not good.
(-: But if you think broccoli is weird, then I think most of the things I eat on a daily basis would freak you out.

Two foods that I eat are definitely culturally influenced and seem strange to many of my acquaintances. One is seaweed (laver) another is yeast extract (British marmite or Australian vegemite). All the same, keep in mind that one person's day-to-day food is exotic for another. Even what you do with the same food is like that: in Holland rhubarb is a vegetable, in England it is treated like a fruit and used for sweet dishes.

Rattlesnake--makes an awesome chili..."Rocky Mountain Oysters"--best cut of beef I have ever had, but took me hours to keep them down and my mind off what they truly were...Alligator--don't let anyone tell you it tastes like chicken...Elk--ooh, it's so good...Moose--can take it or leave it...Antelope--good jerky...Snapping turtle--soup that comes with it's own serving bowl...Bear--stringy, greasy, never again...Octopus--and now for something completely different...[some kind of large rodent in Central America, don't remember what is was called]--they said it was a delicacy, that is THEIR story...I was brought up on the philosphy that you never turn your nose up at anything until you have tried it at least once--then you can honestly say whether you like it or not...
