Genesis 32:25 When the man saw that he did not prevail against Jacob, he struck him on the hip socket; and Jacob's hip was put out of joints as he wrestled with him.

And I was told Jacob was wrestled with God. So Genesis 32:25-29 show that Jacob was on the powerful end.

So my question,

Is Jacob of Genesis 32 more powerful than God of Genesis ?

God busted his hip and Jacob gave up. Jacob limped for the rest of his life. I would say the point goes to God in that match.

"Wrestling" intimates striving between two...not murder...not war.

It was a test for Jacob, would he continue to wrestle all night long with this man he could not see until the break of dawn or would he give up and admit defeat?
Jacob did not win per se...but he did not quit, and he refused to let go, before he received a blessing.

This is a good illustration in that God Almighty does not necessarily demand we win in all things but that He wishes us to persevere...that we do not give up.

There is NOTHING and NO ONE more powerful than God Almighty & Jesus Christ.

Jacob is never more powerful than God.

God will not break a bruised reed. Jacob had to relinquish his own will to be blessed by God. It is there that Jacob receives his new name, "Israel."

No, god is more powerful no one is equally or more powerful than him. He poped jacobs him out of place and it never went back. If jacob was more powerful than that would not have happened.

Hi this is God. Remember me the all powerful! You remind of a lot of these people who try to push lines of the bible onto us instead of revealing the whole story. Anything can be taken out of context if you're on the prowl for it.

You might want to reread that chapter-God popped J. hip (so who is stronger here since J. didn't overcome God)-and God also meant it to remind Jacob just Who God is! He is I AM WHO I AM!

if A MAN CAN OVERCOME God-He WOULD NOT BE God-AND WE WOULD ALL BE TAKING him ON AND WINNING-PLEASE DON'T JUST SKIM READ-BUT STUDY AND COMPARE VS. TO VS. THAT MAY APPEAR IN YOUR BIBLE MARGIN. This is known as comparing scripture with scripture(oops, didn't mean to shout-caps).
