Yes, you can get drunk w/o a spleen
yes, you can live w/o a spleen

It's a liver you can't live w/o!

The spleen is one of those organs we can do without if we have to... other organs/systems take over it's job

Alcohol is metabolized by liver. Spleen is just an organ to filter out blood. It has nothing to do with alcohol metabolism or getting drunk.

What makes you drunk is the alcohol itself. So, you can get drunk with or without spleen. As a matter of fact, you can get drunk after drinking alcohol, regardless of what organ you have or have not, maybe with the exception of brain. I guess you can't get drunk if you don't have a brain. :P

I lost my spleen in car accident when I was 16 years old and I am now 48. So ya you can live without one, and I get drunk on my birthday and wedding anniversary sometimes so ya you can still get drunk too.

Ouch! I think I hurt my pancreas! If I didn't have a spleen I probably wouldn't drink so much.
