When we die we are no longer in our bodies. Our spirits are with the Lord. As far as cremation & our bodies are concern the Ashes to ashes dust to dust is just speeding up the process.

We do not have immortal souls, the bible book of Ecclesiastes makes that perfectly clear that our souls are as mortal as the animals.
For real Christians, Me included, If I believe in the ransom sacrifice of Christ, and the creative abilities of His father God Almighty, then I know I will be resurrected from the dust of the earth, recreated, providing my conduct NOW keeps me and my name written in Gods Book of LIFE. Read Ecclesiastes even if you have to go to A library and borrow a bible, I think you will find the writings of the Wise King Solomon very interesting! So my body after death is willed to Harvard Medical School, obviously cremation would not bother me!
Hey, finally my family can say I went to Harvard Medical...LOL!

You know, I never though much about it until a recent Sunday School lesson. Basically, there is no place in Scripture that condones cremation...it's always burial based. Then there is the issue about the first resurrection, the rapture, where Christ will meet the dead in Christ in the air. The idea that their bodies will be raised up and made incorruptible; whereas, the living will dicard mortality for immortality. How can the dead bodies be resurrected if they have been cremated?
therefore, if given a choice, I choose to follow the example of my Lord, Jesus Christ, and be buried, not cremated.

Just as God can resurrect a rotting corpse like that of Lazarus in the Bible, Luke 16: 19-31, so he can return a cremated body back into its original form. Whatever humans do or imagine doing in the future, God has already done it.

It's cheaper, takes up less space, and family can keep ashes in an urn. I am for creamation.

Cremation is one of those things that is personal preference. There is nothing in the bible that says not to. God created man from the dust of the ground. Why would He have a problem with ashes? Cremation is alot cheaper. Personally, I would go for that. Have you seen the cost of burials lately....??Whew!!

The former Pope John Paul requested to be buried so many feet under ground, I feel the same way . People have many different ideas and who am I to say they are right or wrong , I must say that I didn't always feel this way , but do now. Maybe each soul needs to be handled differently to be happy in the after life. Give me at least 6ft. under Please.

Not a problem, in fact I see that it might, at least for some, make the process of letting go easier. I know it stems from Pagan practice of burning their dead, but then if you look throughout most religions they have some pagan connections somewhere.

Not a christian, but I say it is more cost effective and saves space in our overpopulated world. When I die, i want to be cremated and my husband, too. I want us shaken together and blown into the wind of a lovely beach.
