contend for the win today if the fuel milage stratagey had played out. Am I right? And also, who else was shocked when Dale Jr. took second today about half way through the race? I know he qualified third, but when Dale Jr qualifies well, its normal for him to slip back a little. But today he held his own. Yeah..didn't get the results though..but 13th is good.

Junior did an extrordinary job yesterday. Yeah, he finished 13th; but that was Tony Eury Jr's fault. It's the Crew Chief's job to make the right call on pit strategy and even Junior questioned Tony's call on coming in when they did.

Junior did the best road racing I have ever seen him do. The finish is by no means any representation of how great he did out there in Sonoma. I truely believe that if Tony Jr. learned from this experience, we will see Junior score a top 5 at Watkins Glen.

he did not have the car to win. He was not in the same league as R gordon and T stewart. Jr is a good road racer though, I have seen him get better and better at the 24hr of daytona and he is starting to run really good at sonoma and W.glenn

Ya Dale held his own. What fans have to remember is he comes from a strictly Nascar background. What I mean by that is guys like Stewart,Gordon Robby and Jeff and even Juan have open wheel exp. and much more road course exp.So Jr. is really playing catch up in that dept.,but today he showed he is progressing and he may pull one out soon.

He didn;t even have the car to win, but in my eyes Jr is getting better at road racing.

Yeah, he would've gotten a top 5 if it didn't come down to fuel mileage.
But that's the way it works sometimes.

I agree. All good answers I really can't add anything that hasn't already been said, except the cracker bit, although my wife probably wouldn't mind. lol
