There is no method to get rid of love handles. Unfortunately they are one of those things that only go away when your body fat drops below 10%. You cannot 'spot train' them away. This means that you won't be able to just do sit-ups and crunches and notice them burn away. Just doing exercise in general will naturally decrease the size of your love handles. To burn the most calories you should stick to exercises such as jogging, walking, running, cycling, swimming, jumprope, and if you combine with high-rep low weight weighttraining and healthy diets (balanced nutrition) you should see the the love handles drop off within 2-6 months, depending on your current situation. Squats and leg exercises will also help speed up your metabolism, since they require the most bloodflow. Sit-ups and crunches will still tone your stomach and help slim down the appearance of your lovehandles, so don't forget to do them as well and good luck!

Unfortunately it's impossible to lose fat in just one area, through exercise. You'll have to bite the bullet and do cardio exercise. This will reduce fat all over, and so will hit those love handles!

In the meantime, there are some weight exercises you can do with dumbells (or bags of sugar at home), which will tone the muscle in that area.

Stand with feet shoulder width apart and arms by your side, weight in each hand. Bend your body side ways at the waist, keeping you back straight and lower one weight down and the other will come up. This feels like you're "squashing" the love handle area. Return to normal then do the other side.

The diet & exercise thing is definitely the best way to go & I found a lateral trainer was very effective. You can pick up a decent one for about 50 quid & do it at home in your PJs rather than going to the gym!

A fun way to tone up these areas is to get a hula hoop. Using this for 20mins a day several times a week will soon have you toned.

I'm trying to get rid of them too!! I've been doing a lot of Tae bo, it's working sorta..and I'm drinking nothing but water. I've been eating slightly healthier, just not as often.

Let me know if that helps! :D
