I normally douche after my cycle, but I also heard that douching the other area is healthy also. I read this should be done weekly, that sounds a little much to me though..... Anyway, I read doing this increases energy levels.

Douching increases your chance of developing PID (pelvic inflammatory disease). It also increases your chance of STI's, (sexual transmitted infections). Douching is associated with uneducated, poor people. No offense, but it is time you know, douching doesn't do anything but get rid of the natural 'good' growths that should be in your vagina. The things that fight yeast and bladder infection. Quit douching, it does more harm than good. Your vagina is healthy the way it is, don't use sprays, deodorants, or soaps. You are actually just supposed to rinse with water or sit under the bath water flow to clean yourself.

Also, enemas can be good if you are severely constipated. You shouldn't do them too much or else your body will quit having bowel movements on it's own and you will have to give yourself an enema all the time just to poop! Unless you are constipated, don't do an enema.

You can't say you didn't know now.

Screw energy levels....that doesn't even sound true anyway... Do not douche. It's pointless. It washes away so called "bad baceteria", which are natural, and also the good bacteria that fights the bad stuff off. In the end, your body just has to make more of the good bacteria to counter balance it all, and works harder to get everything back to normal. You could end up with a major yeast infection from douching. Just take a nice warm shower instead. It's so much easier.

huh??? doctors say you shouldn't douche at all but I do after my cycle. They say it washes out the good bacteria as well as the bad and usually cause infection. Also, vinegar douches are too strong. Try the medicated ones with iodine. I have never heard of douching the other area but I'm going to look into it. They were probably talking about an enema.

Douching is not necessary at all, besides it will change the PH of your vaginal area and this could cause you to get an infection. The other area you want to douche is the anus??? I'm assuming this. This procedure is called an enema. They are safe if you know how to do them, and you ONLY use water. You can go to wellness centers and have this done by a professional, it takes about 45mins

Normal washing should be sufficient, if you have strong odors, I suggest you go to the doctor because that could be a sign of something else.

Regular vaginal douching changes the delicate chemical balance of the vagina and can make a woman more susceptible to infections. Douching can introduce new bacteria into the vagina which can spread up through the cervix, uterus, and fallopian tubes. Researchers have found that women who douche regularly experience more vaginal irritations and infections such as bacterial vaginosis, and an increased number of sexually transmitted diseases.

All healthy women have bacteria and other organisms in the vagina. The balance of organisms and the normal acidity of the vagina both act to prevent overgrowth of specific organisms, leading to symptoms of a vaginal infection. Douching disturbs the normal environment of the vagina, which can lead to inflammation and further imbalance of the organisms normally present in the vaginal canal. This can result in symptoms such as chronic vaginal discharge and discomfort. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and most doctors recommend that women avoid douching unless specifically prescribed by a doctor. The body has a natural way of cleansing the vaginal canal by itself. Douching is not believed to have any health benefits and may actually worsen vaginal symptoms.

i think that it is too much first of all doctors dont want you to douche at all i always read that the vagina is a self cleaning organ. though i believe its a good idea to douche once a month after youre cycle but i wouldent do it any more often than that.as far as douching my rear i have never heard of any one doing that except a gay man i used to know i guess it never hurt him i personally wouldent do it to my self and as far as the energy level thing i think that is silly

Douching is NEVER healthy. Your vagina knows how to clean itself and does not need it's healthy lining washed away by a synthetic douche. Stop doing that! You are opening yourself up to infections.
And by the "other area", if you mean your butt hole, that is called an enema, honey. And you don't need to do that unless your doctor tells you to for a medical reason.

Douches and enemas are not to be used in excess, you also flush away the healthy bacteria when you do. A good high fiber diet will keep your colon clean and womens vaginas have built in house cleaning equipment. A healthy vagina is a clean vagina...
