our local free paper "the edge" had some really strong opinions about jr. moving on and as the editor himself said, "what an a**hole teresa is"! he suggests this-no number 3-no number 8-honor himself AND his father and ask for the number 83 any takes on this?

Alot of people are chimming in and suggesting what Junior should nad should not do. The #83 sounds like a great idea; but they will have to get that number from Red Bull first and with marketing and commercial costs being so high; and Red Bull already using that number for it's marketing and commercials it will cost Hendricks a great deal to get that number. Considering how much Hendricks has already spent on Junior; I strongly doubt that they will seek to get that Number.

Neither Teresea or Rick have said a word about the trade of #8. I know just how much the Fans (both Juniors and others) would love to see the #8 transfer with Junior; but for right now it is all wishful thinking.

Until I hear something more tangible; I am expecting Junior to be in the #5 car next season. Sorry, I know very feww people want that (in fact I don't know anyone who wants that); but for now that seems the realty of the situation.

Personally, I don't blame Jr. for not wanting to race for DEI (Dale Earnhardt Incorporated) anymore. Jr. said if his step-mother Teresa Earnhardt, didn't give him ownership of the company, he would switch. Teresa didn't hand over ownership, so Jr. should stick to his guns and switch. As for the number, 83 is already taken. Obvisouly this editor doesn't know much about NASCAR.

the editor is an idiot
his name is Dale Earnhardt JR not SR. This whole thing is stupid. Sr did not even drive for DEI so why should Jr. He should do whatever he wants to make his own name. The best thing is going to happen and that is the tired old Sr fans will go support someone else since they weren't really Jr fans in the first place.

I really don't blame Jr for leaving DEI, he wants to be at a team who can win championships, and right now that team is Hendrick Motorsports. At DEI Jr isn't rreally accomplishing anything, he hasn't won a race in 42 races, and is currently 12th in the pointas standings.

REDBULL will not sell the number 83.
Then the number 38 is out since it is with Yates.
So nive theory but needs work.

He'll probably keep the #8 (for a small nominal fee), then, again, there's the #08.............who knows........ let us know when you find out.
